Yep, the software makes up for it.
Crossing my fingers UV’s are the right way up in this release.

UVs are all ways the right way up.
ZBrush is a Z-up axis application …Maya is a Y-up. That’s why textures and models need to be flip or 90-degree rotated between round trips.
In reference to comments further up about the tag lines being cheesy in the Into video …I found them valid and relevant to in context to what was shown and a work of art in its-self.
Errm… yeah nice one “CyberSpawn2100” I guess zeeing is beliving.
Sorry cyberspawn, your absoluetly right. I will henceforth console myself with the warm feeling that its technically right every time I have to flip my images back and forth as an extra stage constantly as deadlines rush up and brains start melting. Yessir. Problem fixed.
Oh boy, I’m not saying its not annoying …I’m just saying that Z-up is why is that way in the first place. Obviously GoZ is the answer to all this
and most likely we will see some extra switches in Preferences to handle import and export texture flip/rotate options.
Oh and for melting Brains might I suggest a Health supplement called CellFood CellFood FAQ
It would help more to BG Texturing Artists.
Hummm, I think the one word that comes to mind and feel a bit appropriate is:
SPEECHLESS! TOTALLY SPEECHLESS! (I Know; “That’s 2 words,Genius”)
One word came to mind while I watched this again just now:
Pizza
I’m hungry, laters.
you’re a 2.5 d god… :’-).
anytools for laying and unwrapping uv’s?
Yeah, would be nice if Pixologic could manage to incorporate through a partnership an application such as Headus UV LAYOUT, just like Softimage did with UNFOLD 3D.
Now I feel like the purchase of ZBrush 3.1 was a sound investment:D .
.
Huum! Might I point out that NOBODY said or implied to steal pictures from google images. There are tons of free textures sites( WWW.CGTEXTURES.COM) or others that offer great quality images for a small fee. Not everyone is good with a camera or have the free time to go shoot the pictures themselves.
This looks like it promotes copyright infringement. You can’t just go online and freely take images that don’t belong to you.
Why not spend your efforts on the trial version for the Mac? Are we EVER going to get that???
There are PLENTY of people who steal images from Google, Flickr, etc…
Just do a search for FREE PICTURES for crying out loud.
Or start at www.CGTEXTURES.COM, from there you have many links that bring you to other suppliers of images.
By the way, UBISOFT’s ASSASIN’S CREED used primarily that site for the textures of the entire game;)
The only constrain is that you can only download 15Mb per day, that’s all. LOL
It’s one thing to use a site where you have PERMISSION to use the images. It’s stealing when you use someone’s photos without asking or paying them. I’ve told people they were free to use some of my photos because they asked nicely. That’s usually all it takes. If someone just takes without the courtesy of asking that just pisses people off. This Spotlight/Lightbox feature is cool if it’s used in the right way. Like music and movies though, I fear that people will just steal the photos and textures and once again the artists get screwed. You wouldn’t like it if someone did that with models you spent hours and hours creating would you?
Ahem! Might I point out that the way they surf in this video clearly shows, to me anyways, that THEY ARE BROWSING THROUGH A DATABANK OF PICTURES FROM AN ONLINE SERVICE SITE LIKE THE ONES YOU PAY FOR USE OF IMAGES INSTEAD OF JUST GOOGLING FOR IMAGES. LOL
By the way, if you assume that stealing copyrighted material is okay because you believe you will never get caught, then you blindly expose yourself to possible lawsuits which can occur at any time and you might loose all the profits of maybe your most lucrative contract that took you so much time to produce.
The point is, you never know who’s looking on.
If you’re inclined to take that chance, don’t come crying if you go bankrupt afterwards!
Don’t forget Murphy’s law; If anything can go wrong, it will!
Oh no, not another moral debate!!
Shhhhhhh look at the shininess, sparkly features ahhhhhhhhhh!!!
thank you guys! that is fantastic! Pixologic - u r the best!
