You mean I won’t have to flip my textures for export anymore? You guys are the best!
Given the amount of msgs about Max it’s worth repeating:
- June for Mac
- August for PC
3DS users might not realize that there is no version of that software for Mac OS so that explains the timetable. C4D, Modo and Maya are all available for Mac OS, hence they are the “tier 1” applications.
Actually, I can’t say anything…all my words go away at this moments…but I want to say…"“Thanks Pixologic” thanks alot.
Having read/write access to the Zcommand port via SDK will be incredible. Congratulations and Thank-you.

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD THIS IS AWESOME small_orange_diamond

Btw, is 3ds Max version planned ?
Mac and Max don’t deserve anything.
If I had panties on, they would be wet.
Wow…
I dont get where folks are reading that Zbrush 4 will be released for the pc first in August and then the mac at a later date.
They have stated that as of Zbrush 4 both mac and pc versions would be released at the same time. There will be no waiting around twiddling thumbs anymore.
I guess goz is coming in June to the mac first due to the fact that some of the core features that are in Zbrush 4 are already built into Zbrush 3.12. These core features are not present in the pc version of Zbrush 3.
Roll on August when we all have Zbrush 4.

Very excited. Must have!
(sorry. wish I had something new to add. I just agree with everyone, it seems)
Explains best how I feel at this moment.
Cheerio Chris
Well done pixologic.
Hope for a Max connection as soon as posible. Thanks Pixo!
Sounds great and thanks…any chance it will come out for a minor app like 3DS Max?
XSI!!! please XSI!!!

Very Cool! What a huge time saver! Can’t wait!!
wooooow! that’s awsome and it can save a lot of time
I must get down on my knees and beg though.
I am an XSI customer. Please I beg of you develop for xsi!!!
I guess it wasn’t so much that I or other read that the mac version of ZB4 would come out later, just that we’ve been conditioned that the mac versions of zbrush come YEARS later. But you’re right, I do remember reading that Zbrush 4 is slated for simultaneous release on both systems. Your guess about the core features being in 3.12b might be right, or maybe Pixo is just preempting us whiney Mac uses, so we can’t say “macs are always last!”
Regardless, to all those screaming MAX, GO-Z for other apps is up to the individual developers, not pixologic!
If you want your favorite 3D app to have this feature, you need to contact that company and point them to GOZBRUSH.COM and ask them to download the SDK and to hurry it up!
AWESOME!! that’s gonna make zbrush so much cooler!!! that’s just what we needed!!!
I am hoping that this will be the case.
From this:
- Create a complicated model made up of multiple objects within C4D.
- Export each object individually
- Import each object as a subtool.
- Sub Divide and Sculpt.
- Save displacement maps (After hours of trial and error).
- Import all objects, maps and set up materials.
- Render and hope I have set all the displacement settings correctly.
To this:
- Create model in C4D
- Press GoZ button.
- Sculpt in ZBrush.
- Press GoZ button.
- Render in Cinema 4D.
I’m hoping GoZ imports all objects in a scene as subtools and doesn’t combine them all into one mesh.
