Intervain's Sketchbook

just a bit more work on the old fella  - changed some stuff, refined some stuff and added a bit… not done yet and the cloth is still waiting it’s turn! Cheers and hope you like…

anatomy_study_3

Woww!! Awesome level of realism and very nice feel of weight to the sculpt! Well done! Definitely insipiring for me! Great work!

Cheers,

Fabian

Very nice sculpt, one thing only , the hand on the knee, fingers looks little bit stiff , in my opinion you should give more curve or variation to each finger even if the pose is static, but still its only my opinion, othervise it is realy nice piece. :+1:

Man…
I’m always curious how u guys make a very nice sculpt… :+1:
I’m so jealous, I guess need to add extra hours for exercise…

Looking good mag. Keeping us all inspired :+1:

Isn’t bad,but that there are several anatomy problems in mho
Hands poses seems really simplistic, the thumb on the left of the image it doesn’t look like a thumb but it looks like another finger(it’s narrow),on the arm(left in image) the coracobrachialis should be more on inner region on the arm(I don’t know if you have tried to do coracobrachialis or a tension in the biciped but it doesn’t look right,it’s a bit unnatural)
Elbow and malleolus doesn’t look good, they look 3d.
I like the abdomen, maybe the belly button is a bit of line but the folding looks good.

fabianloing - thanks a log

Aliasfx - thanks

NightShocker - thank you

brettSinclair - thanks Brett

renderdemon - thanks. As for the pose, it was referenced so I guess you’d have to accuse the real man of being simplistic:lol: . I agree about the elbow and the thumb comments [whatever ‘looking 3d’ might mean LOL] and don’t agree about the bicep, coracobrachialis thing… it’s not a muscle I was trying to show here but skin in the armpit recess since he’s got some age to him and that’s actually what it looked like in the original but perhaps I’ve gone overboard trying to make it visible and it looks like muscle’s poking through…

About the hands pose, for me even is you have used references,it could be better(mho) changing his left hand ,slightly moving the fingers(ring or middle finger).
the “3d” comment means that look too smooth and not well defined, bone protuberances are more hard looking, sorry if it wasn’t clear.
Sorry for the comment on the arm,but on my poor eyes it didn’t look natural,so I have thought some try with muscles shaping:)
btw,it’s a really good model,sometimes I’m a bit too much meticolous(pedantic maybe:)).
Bye

He’s looking very nice Mag, the changes you made are working very well

Keep it up

Great work as always, love the folds and his posture. Oh by the way we met at siggraph. Nice to see you in person!

looking great. Nice study!

A lot of great sculptures in your thread. The last anatomy study is very good, I like the feel of weight. The anatomy of the pose looks believable. The face is very well done, too :+1:

Have a nice day!

I can practically see this guys thoughts. Great pose, great job.

Thank you everyone! I appreciate the kind words!

I’ll call him done, because I want to move onto other projects  and enough is enough

well, I call this guy done [there are many things I could fix but I cannot be bothered, so there ;)]

had some fun with xsi:

anatomy_study_redner

and here’s a Zbrush screencapture:

anatomy_study_5

link to a turntable for ya [kinda had to squeeze it a lot ;)]: here

and a tiny bit of slow progress [mostly looking for colors now and experimenting - no spec maps, so it looks bad] on my Warhammer character and a not-so-human skull for his staff [I thought it would look cooler with the angry eyebrows ;)]

oh and yes the coat is humans flayed [horrid I know]

I’ll probably won’t post more of him till he’s done.

Any comments always appreciated. Thanks for looking!

It has a credible attitude and a very expressive face. Great work!
In my opinion here the hands are very important to … :+1: :+1:
