Hi
All Zbrush and Photshop.
I had so much fun with this one. Even if it did involve over 100 markers!
Enjoy!

Very detailed … and great usage of lights…definitely a masterpiece. :o
Great picture Cwahl I was wondering what you were going to use 100 markers for. Now I know, a porcupine
Wow, very well done. Nice lighting, too. 50.
Sensational !! Astounding !! Splendid and Amazing !!
Wow cwahl! That is one piece if work
I absolutely love the detail under the eyes and on the lips. I would guess they are a bump map, but it could be very, very high poly model instead.
Outstanding
I’d love to see a markertut-script on this one!
Hi Cwahl, great work like say above…
One question; the line onto the head are modeled or painted?
If painted could you share some steps?
Thank’s in advance.

I stand truly in awe,one of the best in
awhile.
Worth every bit of the time it took.
Glad to hear it was fun for you also.
Most excellent!
That must have hurt.
unbelieveable…very impressive work.
That is very nice. I am reminded of the work Southern did a year or so ago on Pinhead. As nice as the modeling is what really draws me to this is the lighting and the feel of the materials. Very nice. One observation I have is that the nails are just a bit too large. No big deal really but if you have indeed multimarked all the nails into position you may try resizing them and placing them again. Great work!
Thanks everyone.
Menta 7- Yeah, now that you mention it, the pins are a bit too large. Oops. Thanks for pointing that out. Unfortunately even though it would be easy to resize and redo the pins using the markers, it would be a bit tricky redoing all the colour correcting etc in Photoshop.
Also I’ve looked everywhere on the net and I can’t find Southern’s Pinhead. Do you have a link? I’d love to see it.
Marciani- The lines on the head was probably the most difficult problem I had to solve for this project. As seen below, I roughly indicated with Texture Master the lines on the head. I then exported the texture to Photoshop where I made a neater version of the lines which were then reapplied to the head with colour bump.
Nalrac- Yep the lines on the eyes and lips are bump maps using the colour bump in the material.
TV eyes- Heh. More like a human pincushion.
Polaris 30- It looks like your mom?! How did you kiss her goodnight?
Anyway, here are a few more lighting setups for the head, and a brief look at how I applied the line grid on his face.
Heya Cwahl, you can see Southern’s Pinhead pic here… www.southerngfx.co.uk
Just go to the ZBrush images and it is in the thumbnail gallery (near the bottom of the page) that is titled Gallery 21- More Assortments.
Hi Cwahl, like say above, me too are starting with a Pinhead project, and one of the problem( is funny start with a project with many difficult and see in which way you can resolve it) is this line.
I’ve tried many solution (modelled, mask),and finally bump map.
Now i see, is possible.
Second point, you have made me a bad day, because you have made the same my project and you have done this damned well
Thank’s for share

Hey Marciani. What a coincidence!
Yeah I agree, even though the Quicklink section is invaluable, it’s sometimes better to solve problems yourself because it’s a good learning process.
I’m really looking forward to seeing your Pinhead.
…and I’m glad to be of help.
