head project wip

head project 4 post1.jpg

i suppose in creature creation, and character creation, one eventually has to tackle some type of head modeling, I’ve done a couple, but never really get what I want. I find that eye sockets/orbits, and eyelids are by far the toughtest thing to make, and can’t figure out how people do it with such accuracy? well anyway, this is what I’ve come up with for a base. I had some eye’s I liked, but when I marked them and recalled them, they came back with some type of funky material in the pupil, and around the iris.

as where I’ve seen people model the hair surface onto the head, I will probably paint the hair in. Anyone with leads on threads to eye socket, or eye modeling, would be much appreciated.

thanks! ps: the skin texture is from that free skin texture package going around, I had added in detail wrinkles but the material canceld it out.

peace~

Not sure if this thread will help, but some great examples are present from various people…

some guy 23.JPG
well here is what i came up with this guy, I suppose I could do some other scene, and get a little more complicated with it, but I’am not really happy with it, so I guess i’ll throw him on file, and start again :frowning:

p.s I did end up doing the hair on the surface of the model, and then paint texturing it, instead of painting all of it.

This is a good start! Keep at it…

Just a tip, when using your markers, make sure all the buttons in the marker palatte are turned on. Could be you don’t have the “remember material” button turned on.
