Here is a Modo render of the BG. The Cyclops will cover most of it. I used ZB to resculpt the base mesh I made in Modo and made the color maps in ZB using Zapplink which still doesn’t work on my Mac so I had to do it on a PC.

Good Lord… that owl… That ruined the entire movie for me. Would be fun to know who forced that thing into the movie and what the idea was behnd this slip. It fits as well into the movie as JarJar Banks or what the name of that forsaken Alien in Starwars is. A flying can of Spam would have been really a better choice 8).

I’m glad to hear that I’m not the only one who didn’t like that owl. It really wrecked the movie for me .I could see some executive saying let’s put in some kind of robot owl you know, like R2D2 , that would make the movie work .

The bg looks just right for this guy, I love the texturing on the back. I don’t understand why this is not top row, it’s some of the best modeling we’ve seen, keep going. 50.

The ground needs more work, and the skin looks like plastic, maybe sss, some colour variation and less saturation would help.

I mean, harryhausen model was made ages ago, and your’s with the latest tech, looks like a plastic toy. What is more scary is that you are a well known artist in the movie industry.

I really like the quality of the light and color and how his eye stands out.
I think the fur lacks some of the variation I liked in the original (looks a bit fuzzy) but it’s still a great image.
