Great job. is the Tree script from you? It looks fantastic.
I look forward to see more.
thanks for the comments, bits of this project has definately driven me nuts, the tree script is in as standard in blender 2.49 I only noticed it a few days ago. second attempt.
The base mesh is getting there I pretty much redid the whole thing but used CT data to make it more accurate and get the correct proportions etc, including the organs.

It’s great to see such an anatomical study, the lungs look fantastic, your poly count must be insane.
Nice, that’s some insane detailing
another quick test, the branches fit much better on this version
That is looking very attractive, and is a good example of an approach to resolve quite a time consuming problem when it comes to working in this area.If you can master this and get it set up to the correct bronchi structure and lobs then you will have a certain masterpiece. Looking great.
How does the script maintain the shape of the lungs? I saw an entire family (husband wife and son, all dead naturally) like this at a body world. I passed out when I saw it. I then had to walk home from the exhibit with a huge gash on my head, but I never lost the image from my head. Its quite beautiful, and next time I see it, I will sit down.
I can’t believe the moderator here is letting in Blender stuff. What’s next Mudbox stuff?
LOL.
Thanks for the link it will come in handy for the base mesh, the tree script in blender lets you make a shape, pass a curve through it and then grow branches from the curve with the shape being the boundry, worth looking at if you use blender.
Hi, this is my latest effort, I have struggled to find any good 3D reference, nearly every example I have found is shown from the front, I have tried to figure out where the branches would go to by the areas they supply. Also tried to add a bit of depth with some blurring. I dont think I am far off but will hopefully get it checked by someone with a better understanding of the anatomy.
The finer branches from the tree script cover up the anatomy too much so I will leave it off this one.
(base mesh in blender, zbrush for sculpting, texturing and rendering then photoshop)

This is very beautiful and looking accurate. If you want a good reference for any part of the human body I suggest you take a look at surface rendering applications that use Dicom data files. If your a Mac user then Osirix is very good for reference, its free and so are the many data sets that you can get for it. Many of the Dicom sets contain the heart and lungs so provide one of the best references you can get. Combine this software with a Sobotta Atlas and a Grays Atlas and you have most of what you need.
Unbelievable things are happening here.
Stunning work man!
I am not understanding how u achieved all these things.

hi arran and giri babu, thanks, ive been using osirix for a couple of years now and is a pretty impressive bit of software. I got the head and neck sobotta book and I think it has some of the best hand painted medical illustrations Ive seen.
hi
this is a model of the cervical spine i am making for an animation of a spine operation, I have been using spotlight to texture the models with photos and photoshop. Fantastic tool for texturing, so much easier.
When you stop and think how fantastic this new technology is for the artist using it,… and realize how useful it can be for doctors,… then it enters into the realm of Truely Amazing…
Great Work, and Thread…
hi
thanks spiritdreamer, sorry for the delayed response. this render is blender internal with ambient occlusion switched on, I tried Keyshot which I thought was fantastic but is very expensive.
starting on a detailed model of the lower limb
reall really impressive!!
Awesome thread.
Congratulations for your beautiful work. Is great to see this anatomy models here.
silly good work
