Thank you guys so much for the support! Im so glad that people like my work.
Thanks evilsmiley for rooting for me, hehe
Sebcesoir// Im a huge fan of your work. I have to try your approach on hardsurface soon.
I used a lot of decimated meshes for the body of the alien.
As far as the polycount goes, Im not sure right now. I have to check when Im home!
Thaaaaanks for posting the pics, Max!
very good work! impressive!
I found those testrenders and thought you might like them. In the end, I think I like them better than my final grayshaded version.

Outstanding work man ! top row stuffâŠ
The only crit would be some better shader i guess ( not talking about the grayscale version of course ) like mentioned PascalR on CGfeedback
Great work anyway !!!
One question ( dunno if it was asked already ) did you pose it first and sculpt it after or did you build a proper rig for it etc ?
This is an awesome model, great work
Merci guillom!
Thanks for stopping by! i really like your y Mechanic Pirate. Its an outstanding piece!
I defenatly have to work on my shading and texturing skills thats right!
To answer your question, I modeled and sculpted him in Tpose. Then I imported a lowresversion of the hardsuface stuff into zbrush as a stand in. Then I posed him in Zbrush. I used the posed but messed up hardsurface standin in xsi and used it as a guide for aranging the hardsurface parts. That way I was able to pose him faster, because I didnt had to build a complicated rig for him.
Thanks Santis!
Wow
Great work Gordon, canât wait to see the final.
Grayscale looks nice, I like the top ones they look like a printed physical model.
Keep it up, the model and details are amazing

These last 2 characters are just great man. The two really demonstrate some diversity, with the hunter being so âcutâ & detailed, yet w/ the female you show you know how to keep it tidy & clean as well. Not to mention both of them having a very nice integration of organic + hard surface modeling.
Iâd love to see the two of them together in a scene fighting or something.
Anyway, wonderful work man, Iâm sure your search will be fruitful.
Darukin: Thanks man. the final is allready done. Just go back some pages.
sheaspina: Thanks a lot! They are together in a scene in my Demoreel. Klick on the link in my signiture.
Thanks for sharing dude!
How did you do the hair on Liz btw? Iâm having hair nightmares doing my character.
very nice man. I kinda like the other renders better, but thatâs just personal preferance. The model is absolutely stunning reguardless.
V-Gordon, this is an excellent thread. The level of progression youâve made from your very first post up until your most current is astounding and very inspiring to aspiring artists like myself who are always trying to improve. Great work on your girl and beast characters respectively.
Thanks very much for sharing your work with us. Itâs fascinating !
Super excellent work so far⊠of course itâs from master gordon-v
Really digging those renders, look forward to seeing you at Evolve.
Its been over a year since anything was going on in this thread. My new job at framestore keeps me quite busy.
Ive been doing some speedsculpts latley, so I want to breath life into this dusted thread again
