hi kenny, thanks for your kind words yes, the old masters never cease to amaze, its great to pick up their ideas and translate them into our “modern” time, and zbrush is really very helpful for this
and, i do enjoy the process
had a little weekend fun with the witch i did some time ago in zbrush…
Hi kokoro, That witch is scary! I like the side lighting on the face! You should have used that for the Halloween Challenge.
All the best, David
hi david, yes she would have nicely fit… thanks !!
here more of my render journey, again, rendered in cycles (model in zbrush), aimed for showing emotion in that render and i think i got it what do you think ?
Wow Kokoro I think … exquisite, very delicate and subtle! Just delightful, your sculpting is amazing!
I want to reach out and touch it … I better watch out for the museum guard. cheers, David
lol. lol. david, oh yes the museum guards, they got me more than once in a “serious talk” since i ignored the warnings “alarm system is on, don’t touch” … lol… wow, yes i am so happy you like it. as a fotographer you know where to look thanks for nice words
I think, it’s wonderful.
You know how much I love roman portraiture. Sculpting or painting.
You have to export decent tex mapping though. Sooner or later. Meaning UV mapping and retopology, somehow.
yes i know about your love of roman portraiture, michalis, so i am even more happy that you like my work … yes, i know about retopo and uv, i need learn and do. in fact, i am working on a model, that i am retopologizing, but this is boring (too much techy), so it goes slow… but, i agree… it will give me more freedom
Great render and you definently have a subtle emotion going on!
One thing though, on my oppinion the eyes are really wide from each other! Looks like there is room for 2 to 2 and a half eyeballs and that is a lot ^^
Looking forward seeing more from you!
Happy sculpting and liebe grüße^^,
Kenny:)
hi kenny whoops, oh the eyes, yes you are right, they are quite wide apart (or a tad small), not 2 but definitely lots more than one… i will memorize that, to make better in next sculpt. thanks for pointing me to that issue…
NICE SCULPT AND RENDER TOO
thanks bas ! yes, i am learning to do nice renders, and experience it enhances the sculpt so much i can learn a lot from you, your napoleon is awesome
something completey different from me : inspired by the wonderful mechanical sculpts of mealeaying, and these ones my favourite, and encouraged by her tutorial i jumped in to have some fun too
very very nice!!!
Wonderful render! Tell me about it, please.
hi michalis, sure model is decimated and imported in blender. made a floor and a back wall. two planes for emission, slightly colored (red, and greenish) , shader details in attached pics

Great work, really looks like you had a blast during this process! =)
Keep it going, great render and cool forms
Best regards,
- Kenny:)
yes, kenny, this was a very quick and lots of fun project thanks for looking
Thank you kokoro ! Inspiring set up.
(on the bot setup there’s something wrong, avoid color mix, for B&W images like noise or displ maps use math -multiply mode- instead). It gives you more control. Consider B&W images as Values in cycles nodes environment.
michalis, thanks for the info. it will be stored well for apply in later use
this bot, i feel is not so strong from design point of view as the green one, but nevertheless he was same fun to create. so, i like to share…
Oh my goodness!
These are terrific and MUCH better looking than mine!
This is why I try making these tutorials!!!
Thank you!!
You and Michalis are blowing my mind, this makes it more then worth it
Cheers!!!
