fun with zbrush

hi nagulov, yes i think being able to sculpt loose (but precise!) is the best, i admire this intensly on all that can do it  not an easy goal, but for me, worth the effort. thank you for kind words.

Ha ha,

look at #24 and now this!!

Excellent!!!

haha, yes is really funny, how i thought designing something new, and the reference image was inconcious already burned in my mind… i really did not remembered it, activley, as i sculpted, , thanks knacki for sharing your insight.

not aiming to copy the work of fauraut, but i used it as a guide. my goal was emotion…

a few weeks without an internet connection,
so, I’m back
Awesomeness, impressive works Doris!!!
:+1:

thank you michalis! i am glad you not fell off the world, missed you definitely …

nice job doris.her scarf looks pretty neat.keep it up.

thank you, diablo! yes i enjoyed sculpting the cloth, it is fun, but difficult …

a quick funsculpt… sculpted and painted in zbrush, rendered in blender, composite in photoshop…

dragon_01_small.jpg

this was a fun portrait, and quite challenging, as mr nilsson was quite hard to grasp. pippi was sculpted in zbrush, the monkey partly in zbrush and partly in blender, the horse began in blender and got there also its nice topology, then final sculpt in zbrush. rendered in cycles, color added in photoshop.

Very nice work. The only thing to me is, that she seems to be about 26 years old…

It made me smile and I like the large painterly seeming strokes…well done IMHO… Deke

thank you jake  … hmm, i don’t know why she appears that old for you, i checked again the proportions, and have them in the correct ballpark. maybe it is the quite loose sculpting style, that creates effects like wrinkles … if you see another explanation, please share, as i always try to learn from my mistakes.

thank you blue  yes these strokes are already in the sculpture, i like sculpting loosely, and i enhanced it with painting the colors. glad you like it.

The lightness of the “brushstrokes” reminds me of one of my favorite painters.
I mean Lovis Corinth.
I like it best when it is not the typical 3d model look has.
What emotions from their eyes sparkle…brillant!

Ciao,
TM

I hope that one day I can bring characters from books and imagination to life with Zbrush, too. :+1:

I remember the Pippi Longstocking books – read all of them as a kid.

These figures are very interesting! They look almost as if they were carved from soft wood.

I like the unique style of them very much.

thank you tm! too much honor though  yes, i strive also for getting the “3d-look” away, somehow using the plus but not the steril…
jan19, thank you. one day you will become a better artist than me, believe me. just be patient and push forward at all times… yes, it might have a wood carving feel to it, after all, i do carve wood, (examples on my homepage) and occassionally stone, and that might show through…

I doubt that will ever happen! But thank you for the encouragement.

I never thought Zbrush would be used for virtual wood-carving! It is amazing, the way people use ZBrush differently.

Will look forward to your next work. :+1:

i have not touched zbrush for quitte a while, and feel a little rusty with it … so, here a warm up sculpt, initial base mesh in blender, then rest in zbrush. also, tried out the make character sheet, neat option

Hi Doris,How you doin’?? Happy New Year. it’s been a while since your last post.Glad to see your works again.this one looks nice.like it.keep’em coming.;);)

hi diablo, thanks, i am fine, and plan to create more with zbrush this year… i have a big project in the planning already  … happy new year to you as well!
