Excellent sculpting, as always, Doris.
A very strong character.
However, all these photorealistic element around confused me.
If photorealistic approach is what you have in mind, go for much more details, everywhere.
Oh Dear,
you have reached a level which is outstanding.
Leaves me speechless.
I just looked at DrPetter’s Sculptris forum few minutes ago.
Found your first thread.
“Just discovered the world of this awesome programm 2 days ago and I am hooked for sure. Always wanted to have something so easy to learn and create like I would in clay.”
Do you remember this ?
…and now these works!
Gratulation, ich besuche immer gerne Deine Threads, Deine Arbeiten sind großartig und werden immer noch viel besser.
Wo soll das nur hinführen!
thanks tm, schön dass dir auch dieses portrait gefällt.
thanks michalis, yes i see what you mean. mix of styles is not good.
thanks, knacki, well i am confused, i do not remeber this, i never sculpted in sculptris, and do not know drpetter… … wo soll das hinführen? dazu, dass ich frei ausdrücken kann, was ich mit den portraits zeigen möchte…
danke!
ehehe that’s great…thanks for the “tribute” … some chocolate now ?
HA HA
Doris!
Unexpected from you!
It seems it’s a disease alright. Danieleism?
Beautiful. Well rendered!
Now, I have to ask, how you did it.
thanks daniele! your work is so beautiful, i had to try!!
thanks michalis, yes unusual for me … oh, its two simple objects, made the usual loopsplay as for the displacement method, but then did extracts. and strong polish by groups. then in blender, i triplicated the one, sclaed and moved slightly. the other is split into 3 parts, to receive different materials, and then duplicated as well… is it clear?
Oh sorry, my mistake.
Nice work anyway.
And an interesting new approach.
made the usual loopsplay as for the displacement method, but then did extracts.
The usual loopsplay? I missed something here?
great materials.
i’m thinking too of bringing the loopstuff to other renderengines.
grtz p
yes, patpotlood, that is indeed a great way to present zbrush abilities…
knacki, no problem. main is you enjoed my work, this makes me happy
michalis, yes, here is the secret i described. 1 is the main of the base, 2 and 3 are extracts made via puv-tiles, groups via uv and combined similar groups applied to, then grouploops and some stuff deleted. 4 is the base in the middle which is triplicated and scaled and moved, to get repeating lines to create a strong flow…

Yes, I see, thank you.
I was aware of this, however, what about topology on the extracted part?
oh, i forgot to mention, i ran zremesher over it, topology is great. i think it is funny, i run zremesher so often, it is almost a replace for dynamesh (which i still do not like compared to dynatopo)
and another one, so much fun and relaxing… 8.5 hours render time, … (a larger version is on my blog, i could not shrink it down in compression under 500k in original size)
great one again.
but, eh, 8.5 hours of rendertime?
is that in blender with cycles?
grtz p
thanks. yes cycles. i have put on all jingle bells of course, and the layered transparency needed a lot of samples to become noise free, more than 3000. if you look very closely, you see i could have rendered even more samples… the other image for comparison, rendered in less than 5 minutes, and has more polygons even…
hm,
maybe i need to try transparancy in keyshot too before i buy it.
i will follow your experiments closely,
and of course your other non-loop work,
it’s beautifull.
grtz p
sure, before buying try everything. i am fascinated by the render quality of keyshot, and if i did not had cycles, i certainly would consider it too …here in my image, in the lower quarter are 8 layers of transparent planes through which the renderer has to look through, ,so might be interesting if you built in something similar and watch render times… if it is drastically different, please let me know, may be i am doing something wrong…
awesum man… looks like its made out of JELLy…!!
