fun with zbrush

Hi Kokoro, great sculpt and excellent likeness. bravo!

All the best, David

hi glenn, thank you for your constructive critique. yes you are right about the sides, the sculpt has lost a little of likeness in the “polishing” stage, always difficult to keep it to the end. , in this sense your suggestion is spot on. i had not thought about it, as i was thinking of the scene with the tears which is evenly lit, so somehow i wanted this too. maybe i try your suggestion, just to see. thanks!
hi david, thanks! i really love trying to capture faces, so i am glad when i hear it went well

i worked the last days on this render, to try glenns suggestion and try a different material… i hope you enjoy

I like it alot Kokoro …The slight up angle makes it stronger and captures the resemblance and his strong character alot better.
I also like that material…reminds me of the beginning of the movie where the sculpture symbolizing the Roman Empire cracks apart,…if i’m remembering corectly…been awhile since i’ve seem the movie.
For me,…the thumbnail and the way the negative space surrounds the sculpture is a much stronger composition and image, but that’s just me and my personal taste though…Ether way, I think that you did a great job with him, and the character that he is portraying…Congrats…:+1:small_orange_diamond:)

Glenn

thank you glenn, and than you for your input on the previous version, which had let me develop further. this was really great!.. yes, i noticed too that the cropping of the thumbnail works really good as composition. fun!

sad woman marble bust.

a new portrait… mesh started in blenders dynatopo, then exported to zbrush, made a qremesher retopo which became quite nice this time, and then sculpted detail in subdivisions, decimated the mesh and rendered then in cycles…

sculptures in a classic way Always fascinated me…my congrats for your REAL sculptures too (i was looking at your site) :+1:

Amazing!!! One of your best, by any aspect. I love it. Powerful sculpting indeed.
But, this can’t be transferred to marble, the reason is obvious. Artists better be blind… and musicians have to be deaf.
It looks like…
It’s not a particular issue of zbrush or other apps, this comes from the real thing. You can never transfer clay to marble.

lvxifer, thank you! yes classic sculptures is what me draws in most, i just love it… and, thanks for checking out my site, the “no-undo”-sculptures are so fun to create too

michalis, thank you! … yes, i see now what you mean, clay versus stone, its not only the shader that does it… so, the earlier version, i posted at blender forum, was still more stone-like modeling, it was still the dynatopo. … i will keep that in mind, as we discussed, dynatopo itself lends to better marble…

to take a break from my current project, i created this guy, concept modeling in blender, retopo via qremesher in zbrush, refined sculpt, and texture in zbrush, then hair and render in blender… i hope you enjoy…

Luvin this last piece posted Kokoro :)…Really subtle emotion expressed.:+1:…I like the hair growing out of the ear also…nice touch for enhancing a sense of age within that character…:D:+1:

Glenn

Hi Kokoro, this last one is indeed wonderful. As Glenn observed, the hair sprouting from the ears is a sure sign of age.

All the best, David

yes it is  glad you both enjoy my little playing. thank you, glenn and david!

Very well done, Doris. :+1:
I love it!

its a crazy character for sure, but for a change from the marble horses it was great fun! thanks, michalis.

i did charly as weekend fun. he is fully rigged, so can move into different poses…
