hi ezra, i am so glad my sharing is helpful … and thank you for letting me know how it looks on a windows machine. so, sounds good, maybe just the ipad has strange monitor settings
thanks !!
Great Looking Hair and the skin tones are fine on my hd monitor a little on the pale side but well balanced overall…
And horsies back not broke just heavy shadow and ao and definitely turning into taffy…Of course I was more
interested in creating the flesh inside…
I also like the work on the boys clothes…nice work Deke
hi deke, good, skin color on the pale side is what i intended, redhaeads often have paler skin glad you like… will watch waht you do with horsie
Hello kokoro:)
Your hair looks pretty nice and skin looks realistic too
what about try to do some rim light to the hair for next render? I would like to do that too but didn’t try it yet. If you do that, please share :) keep up good work!
hi tony yes rim light is great idea. will see how it looks. thanks !
Looking Great Kokoro…He has that red hair skin complexion for sure.…I really like the emotion that you captured with the lips and eyes…Nice one…

thanks glenn ! glad you like the emotion in this portrait, as it is always what me interests most to capture … and, i see you are back with renewed energy on the boxers, with fresh eyes. i will follow, muhammed ali, i know too
inspired by some very nice speedsculpts we had here at zbc, i did tonight one too… this was a 2 hours session, fun …
Very Nice…Would have taken me a lot longer to get that sculpt down… Deke
Well done, I like them both, last ones.
About colors and monitors. Convert to sRGB when you fill happy (Ps).
The usual wrong thing. Apply a color profile (sRGB) before sharing.
It looks a bit more red on my calibrated apple led display, a second LG and a plasma 42 panasonic (yeah, dvd player reads color profiles).
In cycles, there’s a trick to eliminate noise coming from a particular glossy BSDF. (fireflies)
See attachment.
Or globally, turn off caustics.

thanks, deke you never know, sometimes it goes quicker, sometimes not… this time, it feeled so natural it went quickly…
michalis, thanks a lot for the tip… yes the sparkles, i could not eliminate completely, though i rendered so many passes… i will try what you suggest ! ( i have to admit, that so far i did not see any use for that node piece) … thanks also for the info about colors,so far i just worked with the display and their colors as came from apple. i will try this your suggestion too… i appreciate very much your constant support
i liked the way my last speedsculpt pointed so much, that i decided to take it to a full version… first, i intended to do a black-and-white image, but as i rendered it colored, then seeing side by side the colored and the black and white version, i really have a hard time to decide which is better… maybe, the colored version is a tad better, so here is the colored version… (again, everything modeled in zbrush, textured in zbrush (i finally found out how spotlight works, yippiee !!), and rendered in cycles…)
Hey nice job!
looking great, really nice potrait! Really digging this old teacher, one thing I would recommend resculpting his hands, make them look chubby or more detailed! Other than that great job
Best,
- Kenny:)
hi bas, always my pleasure when you like my pieces. i admire your work a lot
hi kenny, glad you enjoy this one …as to the hands, yes i could go the route you suggest. my way of thinking with keeping them with low detail was that i wanted the focus on the face, of course, and i thought i could get this better when i do “not-face” areas with less, or almost no detail. detail attracts the viewers eye. while this is a true portrait, i still take freedom to composition… i consider your suggestion, try it out to see the effect, as i received on the blog also a constructive critique with suggestions to try out . maybe i can push him even a little further … thanks !
It looks great.
