Great model, works like these open my eyes to new possibilities of zbrush
Abuot the rendering, maybe the red material can have a subtle environment reflection to take away that cg phongy effect.
Also the fake ground reflection of the bike take away from the model’s beauty, maybe it’s better a simple gradient…
You’re using Zbrush wrong. It’s not supposed to be able tod o that.
Amazing.
Great bike!
Thank you all for your comments!!
How did you do the render in zbrush/photoshop?
Very simple - I click on the button “best render” and wait what happens.
If my Zbrush does not crash down while rendering, I export the file as PSD and go on in Photoshop.

Could you please explain how I can do that?
That bike is really cool – something that you don’t see done with ZBrush very often. I’m sure the community would love it if you could share more info about your techniques. Maybe even a step-by-step?
Wow, great work on the bike! Especially, considering the fact that it’s all ZBrush. Would love to see some closeups and Wip shots (lo-res to high res)of complex parts like the chain, chainrings, cassette and derailleur.
!
Really nice. I used to mtn bike race and I would have loved to race a mtn bike like this, although this looks more like a downhill bike.
Pixologic should put this on the “Top Row”? It would be nice to see something up there instead of orcs and monsters. lol.
Hi again! Thank you very much!!
although this looks more like a downhill bike.
Yes, or an “All-Terrain-Bike” with the possibility to ride some high-speed trails.
Well, I will post some more pics of the bike and I have saved some steps while working. So I can put it together in a Step-by-step.
Tonight I made a small step-by-step about the chains. It seems, that it is the most interesting part for you. But it is very simple.
I hope you like it.
And you said that you don`t know much about Zbrush so far! Buch mit 7 Siegeln…hmm.
Fantastic work!
That is nothing short of insane, how is this not on top row.
Buch mit 7 Siegeln…hmm.
Also mindestens eins mit 6 …
Here 1st WIP.
Amazing bike dude!
Blows me away that this was done completely in Z brush, definitely showcasing the versatility of the software.
Awesome tutorial! Thank you so much for sharing. This is great to see people using Zbrush creatively. I have a quick question about the bends, did you use the rotate tool? Thanks again, Great work, clean stuff.
@Abberant: which bends do you mean?
How many polys is the entire model?
oh! and I think I found a bit you missed - The inner tubes don’t have any valves
Then again, perhaps they’re tubeless?
Blah whatever… Top row!!

This is amazing! Now I know, there is nothing impossible with ZBrush!
Maybe the most important question is How long did it took to model it?
Thanks for the chain tutorial!
Maybe the most important question is How long did it took to model it?
4 nights.
Alter Verwalter
That is sick and also really fast if you did that in 4 nights.
One question though. I suppose you did all the cables with ZSpheres, right?
Top Row for sure!
Dirk

4 nights for modelling!!! Polypainting and finding the matcap- and lighteffects took 2 more nights.
One question though. I suppose you did all the cables with ZSpheres, right?
Yes, the cables were very easy to do with Zspheres. Maximum 20 minutes. Also the frame of the bike is done with Zspheres.
It’s a great way to make a chain but…every 2nd link has the side plates close together (touching) so the teeth of the sprocket couldn’t engage at those points?
