Fresh Stuff

thanks calum5zb, i’m glad you like them, the goal is to have each of the sketches as 3d’s soon and cylce some newer work onto the page as those get done, along with some more of the life drawing work and realistics. Your sight is great, you’ve got alot of solid work.

Here is a little update on the second razor, just got back to him today. should have something finished and posted this week. As always crits and comments are welcome.

here’s an update using the new material for this guy, textures off for now, still tweeking it. but try this material out, and let me know if could be improved.

“The Forest Pass” is a Cs2 composite for the background, still a little bit to do. But, should be posting the final this weekend. Both creature are all ZB, materials textures and lighting, Crits are always welcome.

Wild concept man. I love it.

GulagOne, thanks for checking it out. should be done in a few days.

Very cool. I like where your going with this. Jurassic park never had these in it. Haha.

Threetails,
I don’t know how I’ve missed this thread, but I just wanted to tell you your work is really first rate and original. I feel a hint of “Expedition” by Wayne Douglas Barlowe. His characters didn’t have eyes and yours do, and they are great! Your a quick study with an interesting background.
Thanks so much for sharing!

I love Barlowe’s work, thats a high compliment, thanks very much hyper1, you made my day.

Hey threetails. its looking good. did you render that in zbrush?

brett, good to hear from you. Both the Razor’s have been completely done in ZB trying to match the lighting of the background image. the background, leafs and atmosphere were added in CS2 as a final composite. i would like to have done all the tree’s and foliage as ZB elements as well, but i think i’ll take a stab at that on another image using the same characters later on. for now, i think i achieved the feeling i was looking for.

well its been a little while, had lots of shopwork to take care of…i’ll be getting back to this, and finishing up some other images of these two very soon. Just wanted to say hi to everyone… and i’ll throw some new stuff up here shortly…the work is looking good out there.

hey man. Good to know your still lurking around here. Look forward to see what your up to.

Cheers
Brett

well its good to see all the new work, i’ve been on a film so time has been at a premium… but here is a look at the new strife sculpture. i had originally done this guy in zb2 it was one of my first sculpts. now i’m resculpting it with all the features in z3.1

i had originally had him in a dramatic hanging pose and while i was playing around with it back then, managed to delete all lower subdivions. but with transpose and retopology i have him in standing pose, and am sculpting away.

lots of work to go but here is a look at the progress.
transposing the hell out of the last sculpt, retopo, and sculpting to this point has been about 8 hrs.
comment are a requirment.

Threetails,

OK dude where did you find the idea for this guy??? Is there a story behind him?
Sounds like you’ve really refined the mesh. Since you’ve put this much energy into the character I’m figuring that you have some future plans for him? I appreciate you sharing this with all of us!!!

hey, my first visitor in a while, its nice to here from you hyper1.

this is a character devloped from some sketches that i had done some time ago, there are other images of it on the forum under Cam Farn… thats me, if you want to do a search. i think there are some links at the beginning of this thread.
my “weeb” sight has recently been hacked so to see some of the other images its best to do a search here, untill that is sorted out.

i have started to take some of my first sculpts and update them, given all the bad topology and maxed out subdivisons of the originals and rework them so that they can be finished and posed using new work flows etc.
eventually alot of these sculpts are intended full size pc’s that are milled out on a 8’ x 8’ x 8’ cnc machine.
of course all this happens after it has been posed in zb.

As far as this character goes she’s a tree dwelling spieces that injects enzimes into its pray and then sucks the junk back up… i know i’ve thought about it way to much, but i like a background, to help develope a look and some tude’

i’ll have some more work done tonight and post an update.
thanks alot for checking my thread out.

Very cool work

Thats a really straaange looking creature you got there. The way you got her hanging upside down reminds me of a bat. Is she blind too? maybe you could add wings to her. Like those flying squirrels. Could be cool I think? Good to see you back here dude.

Are you workin freelance on a film? If so thats very cool :+1:

Cheers
Brett
