Free ZTL Model from Nick Zuccarello (new VIDEO page 9 added 8/7/08)

Hey Nic dude ,

I have been tooling around your model and found it very clean, but when I look at Uvs in Max unwrap, I see slight stretching around nose, so I relaxed them around that area. Thank you for your generous attitude to its use. I’ve decided to use this as the platonic human, the prototype of all humans in my film. I’m calling it ‘the Christos’. I agree that the human being is an amazing thing, but a machine it is not. Nor would I ever ever say it came about by chance, but by consciousness -the very same consciousness used to model it in maya.
My only criticism is in man-made doctrines. I was not trying to be sarcastic. I admire and respect you and your work. Just try and delve more deeply into the Christ self that dwells within all of us. cheers. John 3:16 is not a good way to understand the nature of this christ self. I would have pm’d but there seems to be quite a few Pauline Chrsitians listening.

One thing I really like about this model is his expression - quiet serene authority.

At once all-knowing, understanding but tolerant and above it all. Something to do with the half-lidded look. COngrats!

Excellent model…unbelievable! For some reason I cannot download it though. I am a member and was logged in at the time, but it only brings up a screen of code for each download, after clicking. I am using an IntelMac Dual Quad if it matters. Any help would be great…thanks!!

It’s been a little bit since I’ve used a Mac, Hyde… but couldn’t you ctrl+click and save as? I seem to get the download both ways. (pc though) Right click and save as or simply clicking. try the ctrl+click thing.

It’s refreshing to see someone mention God in all of this…I mean too often are we are inspired by God, specifically, to do these things that are impossible for a lot of people and they emote so much that we couldn’t possibly take all of the credit and not mention a word about God, but do just that for fear of being criticized or alienated. In no other period of time have I witnessed, studied or experienced such a resounding and deliberate shunning of God so I really appreciate Nick feeling moved by something outside of himself and not being afraid to say what he felt moved to say. I’m certain that it’s genuine so I have no problems with any of it. I tend to think the people lashing out are lashing out largely because of their own guilt about the position of God in their lives so what can you do? I’m sure what Nick posted inspired a lot of people quietly and hopefully more people will not be afraid to express the same things in the future.

Hey Nick, thanks for your contributions they are very insightful. I think your heavy demon is awesome! I also think the wings on your mock up from your blog would look totally cool on him also.

Nick, thanks for the model, it is a great learning tool, i will be using it to learn more about good topology, and creating another base mesh of my own, nice work on the Heavy Beastie.

Hi Nic,
Thanks again for your model. I took the head mesh it into max and re-uved using cylinderical mapping and spent some hours tweaking it. If anyone wants the mapping,let me know and I will make it available for upload.
I took the base mesh of head at subdiv 3 into Facegen and it worked like a dream, creating all races, types, ages, sexes. Good starting point for further work in zbrush. The uvs changed to match topology automatically, so this is a great time saver.
