LOL VoodooDad…:D…I’ve noticed since I came to this forum, that illustrators and illustration’s, not to mention paintings and painters are definitely at the bottom end of the totem pole of hierarchy…Subservant to sculpting and animation…It’s kind of like putting the cart before the horse so to speak and in practice…Could and probably should be the other way around, but it’s not…I guess it’s all just relevent to what the demands and goals are of the job industry are at present…Money is always the bottom line so it would seem…nothing new there…But just like in medicine and doctoring,… that money, and the pursuit of it can have an adverse effect, … not only on the doctor, but also on the patient.
Besides,…popularity is just a state of mind, and has ruined many a star…What was it that someone once said…All is Vanity…
Just keep on Truckin on your own path VoodooDad,… and for sure,…Keep Inspired, and in the end, you will Inspire…Can never have one witout the other…:):+1:
Glenn

P.S. …Luv that Da Vinci flying ship piece, and the concept of him taking a world tour in it…Great one.:+1:small_orange_diamond:D
Maybe an AZTEC Serpant God on ether side of those stairs going up to the top of that pyramid…Just a passing thought on my part… http://search.yahoo.com/search?fr=mcafee&p=aztec+serpant+god

Great work buddy on the davinci flying ship! Really awesome idea and it came out great!:+1:
The only thing I was wondering on the composite, why is the ship in pink? That is the only thing I have to critize sorry mate:p
I also like the idea of the pyramide, fantastic mate you gave me an idea for my next character :stuck_out_tongue: thanks mate
Overall you are definently having a blast designing and creating your artwork and zbrushcentral can definently see that! Really very motivating stuff on your sketchbook,
and I never have seen something like this before! It is great to see what you can do with ZBrush in every aspect!
Looking forward seeing more from you voodoodad
Cheers and happy sculpting

What can I say, Glenn? I’m a c&c whore! The serpent god is in the works already. I want to try to capture the serpent silhouette that appears twice a year with the serpent’s head at the bottom of the stairs. I’ve think I’ve got the proportions and angles down pretty well which is about half the game. I need to play with the light and shadow settings to get it to come out more. And of course I’m going to add more detailing to the pyramid itself.

Kenny; thanks man. I’m afraid the pink is my partial color-blindness coming out again. I always try to get some commentary from my family on that kind of thing before I post something that’s getting toward finished, but nobody said a word about the pinkness. I’ll go back to PS and try adusting the colors to be a bit more realistic.

Fixed the color balance, I think…

Let me know.

Hi Voodoodad,

Glenn is totally right this after all is a sight for animation and animators … but being the fantastic tool that Zbrush is, its been embrased by sculptors, painters, illustrators, photographers amateur and professional alike. Even a few weirdos that do 2.5D in a 3D application! Just keep exploring and doing outside the box stuff, the reward is in the doing! Cheers, David

Morning progress.

After several power outages, one of which resulted in a corrupted Zproject file, I decided I wasn’t meant to work on my Da Vinci Project today so I started dooling a new mech. Here is a gun.

Thanks Gary. I’m getting faster at this if nothing else.

My imagination is having a little problem grasping a convincing idea for an axle/suspension system for the wheels. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Afternoon progress.

This is a badass wartank! Looking forward to the end result!
Keep it going , great work mate:)

Thanks, Kenny.

Drive train squared away, though not detailed yet.

very nice!!! about how many polygons are these pictures? you do a very good job doing it all in zbrush…i will have to try it myself, looks like a good challenge

Thanks, Prometheus. With 90% of the major construction done I’m sitting at just a hair under 14 million polys. That’s pretty low by my usual standards. I have one model sitting at 34m but that was created before I even halfway knew what I was doing. The more I learn, the fewer polys I’m building up which is always a good thing.

Another update; most of the construction is done, with just touching up some rough places and adding a few detail pieces.

Great work, looks fantastic! Great war machine!
Happy sculpting!

Hi Voodoodad, sorry I have not posted in a few… I am really digging this last vehicle. So heavy duty looking (looks like it belongs in ‘HALO’ or something?). Will call ya. Keep on ZBrushing.

Thanks Kenny and Dragon.

Latest update.

I like playing with Zcrayons!
