David, that right there is the reason I post here so frequently! Advice like that is incredibly invaluable to me, not to mention making me feel silly for not thinking of it myself! Thanks David! I’m all over it!
That’s what makes this a great community … I tell my friends how heartwarming it is that an animator from Israel can be swapping hints on SSS with an Illustrator from Dubai. Keep up the great work my friend! Cheers, David
BTW, you did a great job on this … Bravo!
Thank you again David! For both the compliments and the great idea! And done! All this PS work in the last couple of days has considerably increased my speed if not my skill.
Added the Stars and Stripes, a USAF logo (my apologies to you army guys, but the Air Force has a cooler looking logo :)) and a bomber pin-up girl (another good reason for the USAF logo). I just wish you could see her a little better.
Great, nice touch!
Re: your signature … Easier to teach an old dog new tricks than to teach a new dog old tricks! Cheers, David
Have to post one more small update. I didn’t like where I put the bomber girl in the last post, so I moved her to the circular plate on the shoulder. She’s a little more visible there as well.
Hey VoodooDad
Fantastic job done, and piece of ART…small_orange_diamond:) An Award Winner in my book Any day…

P.S. …Luv the compostion…and everthing else about it…creates that all important…ONENES…
Great title choise also…:)
Glenn
Thanks again, Glenn. I had a pretty restless night Saturday thinking about what I could possibly do to improve this thing… At first I just thought it would be a matter of pasting the mech into a picture of some damaged buildings, but of course when I googled “damaged buildings” the iconic photo of the WTC disaster was the first thing that popped up. I didn’t have a whole lot of confidence that I could believably remove the workers from the foreground but it didn’t prove to be as difficult as I originally thought.
The original image of the WTC.
And another wip. This one is based on a concept drawing of the Eyrie from the HBO series A Game of Thrones.
You really had your work cut out for you … good job!
I hope you have a Wacom tablet. Cheers, David
That was on of the most worst days ever in life! Wakes up a lof of memories!
But overall great work really nice composite and like the new project your working on aswell!
Conceptual fighter plane. How, you may ask, do I jump from a fantasy based architectural type of idea to a plane? Answer; I have no idea, that’s just how my brain works.
Really cool plane!
Cant wait to see it polypainted!
Pirate ship concept.
Looking forwars seeing the steampunk airplane done
Very cool ideas though mate, relly like it alot that you do all kinds of things in zbrush! woudl have never come in my mind somehow
thanks for the inspiration!
Cheers,
KC
Thanks, Kenny. My ideas just kind of flow out of my head as I doodle with Zbrush. Usually I have a period of two or three days after finishing something (Eternal Vigilance in this case) where I’m just a little lost and almost to the point where I don’t think I’ll ever be able to do anything to match the last one. During that period you’ll see me posting a ton of concepts and not much with any major details until a particular ideas sticks with me and won’t let go. That’s what happened with the mech, in fact. When Glenn put that bug in my ear about improving the background for it, I literally couldn’t sleep that night. Different ideas about what I could do whirled through my head all night that night, until I grabbed that photo of the WTC off the net and started messing with it. That’s why I post so frequently here, because the feedback I get from you guys never fails to spark my imagination in some way.
Corey, sorry it took so long to respond to your post but thank you. The plane idea hasn’t really taken hold of me yet, but it will come. Think I’m going to see where the ship idea takes me for now.
Added masts, gun ports and outlines of planking on the sides.
Good Job dude, nice try Hard Surface Modeling in Zbrush. small_orange_diamond
Thank you, AJ! That’s very flattering coming from you. Your Rainmaker sculpt is outstanding! I hope I have 1/2 your skill some day.
Man, I feel like every day you post something new/different/badass.
Love all of your work, and again, props on your great progression.
May I ask, is the majority of your work done in shadow box?
I feel like I haven’t really given it a chance…
Anyways, keep it up brotha, doing great!
Corey
