FIber mesh fun

Awesome!! :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

God, what an awesome look it has now.

Rick, forgive me if this has been posted before, but Pixologic’s Application Engineer Paul Gaboury has this video on YouTube in which he details how to get all kinds of great effects with FiberMesh. It’s really long but worth it!

Wonderful pose and expression. Awesome as always.

Thanks guys. I got some time to work on this today. Getting tired of trying to groom this hair,so I played with the BPR filters some. It’s pretty cool what you can do inside ZBrush now.Well actually it has always been pretty cool.
Anyways here is the latest ZB render of this continuing work in progress.
Eric I wish I would have checked this thread earlier to see the video you posted from Paul. I sure it would have helped.
Also someone asked earlier how Modo works into my work process or something like that ,well I was using it for it’s render capabilities and to adjust topography, now that you can do some pretty cool renders in ZB I will probably use it to animate ,now that is has character animation. I’m actually excited to play with that.
I will continue working on this tomorrow but will probably have to stop after that too much work to do and not enough playing time.
Oh and don’t call me MR Baker just Rick. Mr Baker makes me feel old. I know I am old but don’t want to be reminded of it.HarrybeastSAT.jpg

I can’t imagine anyone who creates monsters for a living will never get old, at least at heart.

As always, absolutely love your creations!

Ow yeah - now after those changes you did to hairs it looks LOT better. I am loving ears - good to see what can be achieved, as I will have to deal with it soon on ears of my own creature. What I like in your work that it doesnt look CG - closer you are to finish it has more fleshy, real look. I would love to see your animation man - if you will make it as detailed as sculpting that is going to be awesome  Keep it up Rick - good to see that stuff.

At second look I love tongue as well - is it polypainted?

Love your latest update Rick :), Amazing and beautiful how much color variation his fur has. The specular/reflections on the inside of his mouth/nose makes it super real. I think that “perspective” is turned off in your last render ?

amazing work! Congratulations master!

Terrific as always! And great rendering. Did you achieve the highlights in the mouth and nose with the material blur feature? Can’t wait for the next post!

Wow! Those last images are really impressive Rick! Great to see FiberMesh being pushed to the next level!

I wasn’t able to get as far as I would have liked on Sunday I did manage to sculpt at least the front part of the body and get some hair on it. Looking at it this morning with fresh eyes I see a lot that I would like to change.Like the veins which I purposely did very strong so they would show up under the hair . They show up alright ,especially on his too long paw.Unfortunately I won’t get time for a while so I will post this. Still a work in progress ,which is something I really like about working on the computer you can always change and work on things and try and make them better. It’s definitely a lot better that the first piece of junk that I posted two weeks ago when I started this thread, but hey I was excited ,it was the first time I used dynamesh or fibermesh.
For anyone who is interested there are photos on line of some of my MIB3 aliens on screenrant.com
thanks for all of your comments Doggy 7 yes I used the materials blend feature to get the specularity on the nose and mouth. I’ll try and at least do a better render this week.

Wow. Amazing work.

This looks great.

Just wondering Rick, do you use these digital tools to show your concepts for film use?
This looks sooo good, I figured you probably do …

Wow! Top Row and your not even finished yet. Damn, they sure do like you Rick. They could have waited until you were finished at least. All kidding aside though, congratulations on Top Row. Well deserved. :+1:small_orange_diamond:sunglasses:small_orange_diamond:+1:
