FIber mesh fun

Hey Rick! You can toggle the background image in the Lights palette. Just click “Background” and then click on the thumbnail of the texture and choose “Texture Off”. The background image will stay loaded in your palette, so you can toggle it on again for rendering purposes. As for turning ligjtcaps on and off, I don’t know of any way to turn them off other than turning the intensity to 0 as you said, or pressing the Del button in the lightcaps subpalette which deletes that light entirely.

Pushing buttons is probably one of the best ways to learn Zbrush. I’ve run into some of my happiest accidents this way.

Hope this helps!

it’s look dynamic… Great job:+1:

I finally got a moment to try your advice Etcher ,threetails ,voododad and it worked. Thanks you. Now I just need some time to put it to use. Nice to have a community of guys willing to help.

As always excellent work Rick … You always get all the great little details just right !

Great wolf! I love the intensity in the pose and the expression of the face :+1: Nice use of fibermesh too

Wanted to finish this wolf beast this weekend but I am getting tired of it .I decided to add a rat to the scene .Here it is before it is posed and had fibermesh and poly paintrat1.jpg

Very impressive work:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Bravo, I really like it!

Whole thing is cool, really love the eyes and ears:+1:

Rick, FF sake - why rat from all the animals? I am working ages on mine and now if I compare it to yours it would be clear how bad my rat is. Damnit.

Keep it up, after all I will learn a tone again if you keep posting WIPs. I love hands and feet you did… And ears as well - how you are dealing with such things like thin ear “membrane”?

Incredible Mr. Rick. The best cg rat I’ve seen. I can’t wait to see it with fibers. Take care and thanks for posting always awesome work.

theres always room for jello, and i guess a rat or two… cool

Wow totally cool, Mr. RB! I look at Behind the Mask alot. Classic.

You may notice that the face looks less finished that in the previous image. Yesterday after quickly rendering a BPR and posting it I had to go to an Easter party which lasted most of the day and well into the evening. Upon my return I wanted to get some ZB time in so I started to pose this guy with transpose master and damn if it didn’t crash and damn if I didn’t save the version that I posted. When will I ever learn. At least I had a version that was not that different. Just lost a lot of finishing on the head. Oh well.
anyways I restarted ZB and started to pose him no crash this time.

nezumi, Sorry there are plenty of rats in the world I’m sure there is room here on ZBC for at least two.
The way I did the ears is, first I sculpted the head with Dynamesh and pulled out ears finished them off to where they looked good but too thick. Then I masked of the back side and a little around the front and did a mesh extraction. I remove they dynamesh ears and replaced them with the thinner mesh extracted ones. Hope you can understand what I am saying and that it helps your rat. I’m looking forward to seeing it.
I still have much more to go on this guy want to make the pose better have to get rid of the folds on his bent arm and well youll see as I progress.
thanks for looking and for your comments. I actually didn’t expect so many for a rat on Easter sunday

awesome rick, love the pose and the gentle organic skin :):+1:
hope you had a great easter time mate! ah I know what you mean, I forget to save aswell  zbrush definently needs a autosave^^
Cheers,

  • Kenny:)

You coulda pulled out his ears inot bunny ears and made an Easter themed post!

The Rat looks really nice… Love the organic folds to it skin! Awesome as always!

Thats a nice trick there for ears! Have to try it! Thank you!
When I now look at the paws they look more like those of squirrel then a rat. Dont get me wrong, they’re very cool looking by just have that gnarly look of squirrel paws rather then more flat and delicate in a way rat paws.
I cant wait to work on my little fella and check your trick. And honestly I am eager to see what you will do with fibermesh.

Absolutely gorgeous ! Love the details in the inner ear. Maybe when you get back at pores on his face don’t make them as equal everywhere as in the one posted earlier. Other than that I won’t dare crit it, it’s amazing !
