Experi-mental Sketchbook

I said I’d thank Vahid for sharing his materials with a picture and so I have
Whether I’ve captured Vahid’s likeness purely from imagination I could not say. Perhaps his crown is bigger?
Vahid’s post and materials here

Cisco - thank most kindly for the links. You have the right idea about sport - to my shame I motivate with cake. Naughty but so nice.

Erik - I love Vangelis , what a great quote - thank you.

vahid

I’m delighted you like it
Thanks Vahid.

…dream!

Really loving this thread. The unique style, but also the thoughts shared.

Alot of us hide behind out art, or are at least not seen, so its great to hear a little of the personal journey that took you to where you are now. I really like this stuff.

Keep on creating! Glad zbrush proved to be a valuable tool.

Happy to see a new job of yours. Precious, it transports me to another world of fantasy, of kings and adventures, like when I was a small child.

a dream like incantation for the eye

Another delightfully surreal creation, Mark!

And I love that Vangelis quote too, thanks Erik!

Thank you all for your kind replies, thoughts and conversation. Currently I am taking a sabbatical.
Such a sabbatical means that I currently have no clue how ZBrush works, have no idea what any of my notes mean and seem better suited to any number of distractions.

:D:+1:

wishing you a good time in your Octopus’s Garden!

An experiment in mood, utilising sculptris pro for 3d background scenes.
Future pieces I hope will fuse this feeling with more concrete characters and story but for now just play.

Single sided 3D planes, transpose copied , eroded and manipulated at various resolutions using sculptris pro. Rendered in Keyshot.

Thanks for taking a peep,

Wow, this is refreshing! I love the semi-abstract approach. Your style might evolve towards increasing stylization, like the great masters: Picasso, Mondriaan.

This is very cool

Thanks Metin , I have a tingle upon me.
I’m hoping when the time is right to experiment in the evocation of the nonmaterial utilising geometry which existing only virtually might be less of a paradox.
In the meantime I shall continue to avoid the computer as best I can.

Thanks Nacho , appreciate it.
