Solid, thanks man! !
I definitely couldn’t be a surgeon Great stuff you’ve got here man
I think I can visit your thread again- the bloody pics are on the other page.
Nice to hear you´re planning a new update.
Hope you won´t let us wait tooooo long!
Have a nice weekend!
I hope we´ll all have plenty of time for Zbrush.
Bryzol: thank you so much for taking the time to check out my thread, glad you like the sculpts! Well, I’m not sure if I could be a surgeon either, but then again, it’s just human mechanics, right ? !
moni: Ok, I got the hint, I will repost the bloody ones on this page! ! Working hard on the update/ new stuff, hard to find the time though: gotta’ get some garden work done, take one of the kids to soccer match,… . But slowly getting there. Have a nice (Z)weekend!
!
loving the anatomy sculpt, was thinking of doing something similar myself but the thought of it is daunting. good job man.
darrenw: Thank you for the nice comment! quote:“was thinking of doing something similar myself but the thought of it is daunting” You are sooo right about that man! I’m gonna’ throw a party when the anatomy sculpts are finished!
Moni: stop pushing me! !
Ok time for updates! Taking a break from the anatomy stuff (need fresh eyes man!) to work on … some more anatomy ! Needed to draw some looser stuff - want to do a full figure sculpt. Did some initial sketches.
AXL_Post_#001:
Next update: basemesh and initial sculpt. See Ya!
First – great to see a new update! … without blood.
Garden work…hm…you should have dogs like mine – so there would be no more grass or flowers to worry about. Only mud. Haha
Ok… back to your update – Wow…your drawing skills are FANTASTIC!!!
Unfortunately I have no artistic background… :o
I watched some music videos on youtube…and accidentaly I saw a Zbrush turntable movie.
I was immediately under a spell… ehm… z-pell.
Well…unforunately I had nothing to do with computers before (only music…and google or e-mails ).
Nevertheless… I ordered my Zbrush license.
I haven´t been interested in art before.
It´s a shame I know. :o
But Zbrush opened my eyes.
I love ZBC and all the nice people here – like you!
And your work is truly inspiring!
Can´t wait to see the model!
Love the sketches you have here… would love to see it gets realized as ZBrush model!
neat sketches, are the feet supposed to be almost twice as big as the head?
Hey, Etcher… these sketches are great. As someone who’s done a lot of modeling from OTHER PEOPLE’s concept art I can say they provide more than enough information for a solid translation into 3D.
More than that though, you’ve provided some actual personality with the hip/shoulder placement, overall balance and head angles. This is something often absent from a more “technical” concept. Nice work.
nice sculpting
I like this skeches too! Now I’m waiting to see 3d version
Really cool sketches Etcher, I love the style and designs. Nice work.
Hey guys, thank you all for the comments! !
Moni-Poroni: thank you for the nice comment on my drawing skills! Busy on the basemeh and initial sculpt, hope to post new pics soon.
Moni, about your artistic background: I’m glad you stumbled onto Zbrush man: I took another look at your Deaf Destiny thread and I think you did an awesome job without having an artistic background! Mastering the human body is so difficult and you learned and improved so fast – I think you’re catching up real fast! You’re 22, so, let’s assume you “missed” 8 years of possible artistic education (provided it would’ve been the right artistic education), I’d say: no problem, cause you have between 60-90 years left to draw/paint/sculpt! That’s gonna’ be a lot of ZBrush fun man! Again, really lookin’ forward to your sketchbook: it’ll be great to see your progress on some new stuff!
SolidSnakexxx: Solid, thanks for the steady feedback man! You – Keep – Me – Goin’ !!! Working hard on the AXL Zbrush model – hope to post soon!
Spaceboy 412: Thanks for taking the time to look at my sketchbook and comment. Glad you like the sketches. About the feet: yeah, they are supposed to be that big. But, you’re the second person to comment on that (my cousin also told me he liked the “kid with the big feet”), so I might wanna’ check their size when sculpting.
Jbuck: Ow man, really appreciate your comment; I worked hard on trying to put the things you mentioned in the sketches (2D to 3D info/posture) so I’m glad it’s noticeable. I hope I can translate it into a nice sculpt. Might be not so suprising why we appreciate each other’s worx: different styles, but, the same ideas on workflow and techniques. !
Tabo666: Thanks for the nice comment, glad you like my worx!
Bryzol: hey man, thanks for dropping me a line! Glad you like my sketches (I was so impressed by your sketches of Sting Lady), working hard on the 3d version! !
Jp_smith: thank you so much for checkin’ out the sketches and the nice comment. ! I hope I can translate the style into 3D… . Think I’m gonna need to re-read / watch the Overwatch thread from time to time to look up some workflow stuff, that is, if you don’t mind…
.
Hope to post updates soon- gotta’ find the time to sculpt!
Really cool sketches
Cool work on the sketches Etcher…!
Ooh original character design. The one image looks like it should be in a how to draw book, the steps are very well illustrated. I will have to try that technique. Also very nice use of silhouttes. Are you going to do a turnaround as well? Those were tricky to get right in 2d.
Thanks for the kind words!
60-90 years left? 90years – that´s a little bit exaggerated.
Anyhow, I´ll keep on Zbrushing as long as I can hold the wacom tablet pen.
After I saw your sketches I´ve started to draw some quick sketches on paper too…
Good exercise to learn the human anatomy.
Hope you post your updates soon!!!
very cool sketches dude!! great style.small_orange_diamond
Hi all, thanks again for the kind words and encouragement, it’s really driving me to keep goin’ !
Karthik.AL: thanks for stopping by man! I’m glad you like the sketches. . But now, the sculpting of the entire body…
. Well I guess you know what I’m talking about!
Lucky_1: Hi Lucky, really glad you like! Thanks so much for takin’ the time to drop me a line man ! Hope I can get a good sculpt out of it… .
womball: Thank you so much for the nice comment! I’m not planning on drawing a turnaround (it’s all taking me too much time and I really want to get to the sculpting part) I think I got enough info to work with from these sketches. I’m working with the silhouettes while sculpting as well, to check if the sculpt posture in side and back views corresponds to the front view silhouettes I made! Hope to post pics of that this weekend! Thanks again man !
Moni-Poroni: hey man, I’m glad I got you sketching! Imo you should take the time to study the human figure, it’s THE foundation for fantasy and creature work. Go to Gnomon and look up their DVD’s on the human figure (drawing and sculpting). It’s gonna save you years of trouble. !
definitely_maybe: Man, I’m so honoured and glad you like those sketches, thank you man! ! I’m having a hard time on the sculpt right now, makes me respect your worx even more!
!
I’ve got the basemesh finished, and I’m blocking in the bone and muscle structure. I hope to post update pics this weekend. It’s taking me more time than I thought I would need. With every passing hour (of sculpting) my respect grows for the artists and their worx on ZBC… !
