Hi Geert always great to look at your work, like I told you before love the gun design!!! all lot of work in my sketchbook also disappeared :s. Hopefully they get our old work back online, talk soon buddy!!!
my stuff also vanished for the most of it. also the most recent ones, including ’ life fast forward’. odd… the postings are there , but without images.
probably just a migration process… I hope
Love your work. excellent job.
fast question, I am hobbyist level sculptor and saw something I didnt know I could do in your video. Im going to go look thru your tutorial documentation but I have to ask. When you used shadowbox for the zbrush logo and you used spotlight and textured the logo directly onto the shadowbox how then did you convert that to mask to create the logo 3d?I need to see that asap! that was so cool man. I either didnt ever see that done or forgot.
-you really put a WIDE range of zbrush’s tool set to use very well. I subscribed. I think what I can learn from you is to expand my tool box and not sit on one brush for too long. awesome!
EDIT: nevermind I found it easily on page 006. thanks chief
You are the shadowbox MASTER! Nice job on the guns…the lines are so crisp.
The illustration sheets are so helpful.
Geert your work is really inspiring! The only negative point I see in all your tutorial sheets is that Pilou will never sleep anymore!!!
But guess what, the french people will adore it!
…these new pages!
Some little works in perspective!
Mutte969: thanks bud yeah, hopefully they’ll be able bring’em back
Hope all is well!
Julian_K: we’ll see
Idlemind: hey man, thanks for the great comment & for letting me know this was useful Expanding the toolbox: I think I know what you mean-> we all tend to stick with what we know bestnto get the job done as fast as possible, but taking some time to experiment with new features really pays off-> have fun ZBrushing!
sleepfight: thanks for checking out the new stuff and the great comment Yeah, I must admit I had my doubts when I first started working with Shadowbox and the clip brushes, but I’m always pleasantly surprised by the crispness of the results.
boblebain: thanks man! Haha, you wouldn’t believe how fast Pilou works -> I sent him 3 sheets on tuesday and they were translated and online wednesday!!!
Frenchy Pilou:
Superbe!!!
Hopefully all sheets wil be back online soon Edit: Woohoo!! All sheets are back online :)

Hi Etcher,
thank you very much for all your effort!
I really like your sheets and also their design.
A lot of useful information with a cool looking presentation.
Unfortunately I lost a little bit the orientation because they are so widely dispersed.
And sadly some of them seem to be unreachable in the meantime.
Maybe it would be a good idea to additionally collect them into one pdf, like a kind of tutorial book for offline “reading”, what do you think?
Keep up the great work!
I’m looking forward to what comes next from you.
Kind regards,
Tom
Frenchy Pilou: romantic… mmm well … we’ll see …
Phönix:hi Tom, thanks for your nice comment & for sharing you thoughts I checked my thread and all sheets should be there -> however, I did notice that some post numbers changed and some posts appear on other pages (probably due to the ZBC server migration a few weeks ago) so I’ll have to adjust the backtracker. The idea of an Etcher_Sketcher pdf has come up on some occasions (some other fellow ZBrushers have suggested this in the past), but I just dunno yet. Meanwhile I’ll adjust the backtracker.
Hi. I’ve been a long time lurker on the forums but never posted before.
I just got Z-brush for christmas (its been on the wishlist for years :)) so have been trawling the forums again for inspiration.
I just felt after looking through your sketchbook i had to pipe in and congratulate you on the quality of your work.
not just the sculpting but the presentation is great too.
superb stuff.
so much to learn so little time
ChemicalBR0: thanks for stopping by & the great comment -> ZBrush for Christmas = awesome ; probably one of the best presents ever :D. Happy ZBrushing & look forward to seeing your works on ZBC
I think it will be some time before I’m ready to post anything.
I’m currently working through the intro to z-brush 4 book by Eric Keller. it’s more or less just the basics but right now that’s what i need
I’m a long time Lightwave user and I’m finding it tricky to transition to the zbrush way of thinking. (when i 1st loaded zbrush i spent a good 10 minutes trying to figure out how to get a 3 panel view (Top front side) then it clicked… “bloody hell everything is done in perspective”
keep up your great work and i look forward to seeing more.
Etcher I’m downright thrilled that you replied to my thread! I followed your step by step for the pistol last night, and though I got some of the shapes and proportions off, it still came out looking ten times better than I could have managed without reading it in the first place. Some of your techniques are things I haven’t even seen in some of the pay-for-play hard sculpt dvd’s and I learned a lot!
Thanks for teaching an old dog some new tricks! Gary (aka voodoodad)
Edit; Hope you don’t mind, but I copied this post from my thread just to make sure you know how grateful I am!
ChemicalBro: yeah, Eric’s book is great! I made transition from C4D, never looked back btw, next friday’s gonna’ be a blast, you’ll see
scultpt on dude!!!
Voodoodad:great, thanks for the feedback (btw; one of my main frustrations is not having enough time to comment on ZBC threads -> I check ZBC several times a day and see so much great stuff & experimenting being posted -> dang, not enough hours in a day I guess
), anyways, let’s get back to sculpting!!!
ZBrush rules.
