Calum5ZB: Hey Cal, thanks for the awesome comment! Glad you like my working method! Be aware of the downside though:too much planning can be detrimental to creativity and artistic looseness: I sometimes have to force myself to just “scribble away” or “plunder” away. Finding a good balance would be nice… . Thanks for stopping by Cal, looking forward to your next!

Lemonnado: apologies!!! :o You will have noticed that it was not intended (since those were only updates of older posts).
Anyways, I’m glad you liked them :+1: .

Yansan: I’ve attached pics of the bust I used as a ref whilst sculpting. I tried to find out who originally made it, but couldn’t.There are many pics of Dante’s head on the internet, but none seemed to match. The closest ones I found are also included in the attachment.
I’m so glad you like the Axl stuff, cause that’s my baby! More to come soon!

Aberrant:Thank you Brian!! Much appreciated! Looking forward to your new stuff! (don’t forget to post your sketches too, cause they are so good)

Etcher you have quite a bit coming together now:+1:

Dman: as you can see: workin’ hard on that flip book! Again, thanks for checkin’ out my stuff!

So, finally, way to long overdue… an update… . I used the awesome PaintStop to flesh out The Omen. As you will probably see, The PaintStop sketches are going to be a huge help when I’m going to sculpt this character!

ZBrush is the closest thing I know to getting my hands on wet clay,
PaintStop is the closest thing I know to opening my paintbox.

Give it a try girls and boys, but be warned, it’s very addictive… .

Really dope looking Etcher!

It’s darn cool to see you’re awesome sketches coming out of paintstop:+1:

Btw, how do you get the sketch pad paper in paintstop for a background like that?

Woah, massive study, really impressive. I had a play with PaintStop yesterday, good fun. But you are bringing the use to another level, the charcoaled pages are terrific.

you sure know how to draw sir. I love the sillhouette image with the pendant. Great atmosphere there. Is it just me or is that character getting older?

Really nice to see your process, loving the black and white pics.

hi etch, so this is what the etch has been working on in secret. I almost thought you lost your Z-force lol  . I Hope to see some new sculpts of you in the near future. grtz from Antwerp

Holy crud! Welcome back dude. Your sketches look awesome. Especially with the Paintstop workovers. Was cool to see you in the demo vid too :+1:

Finally! an update! and a great one as usual!! work man!
What do you think about about paintstop? is it easy to use?

Wow…what an awesome study…PaintStop is one cool app all by itself!

Excellent and inspirational turnarounds as expected!

Glad to see someone putting paintstop to good use already.

love the walkthrough! terriffic stuff!!!:+1: :+1: :+1:

Glad to see you can update your project here again, Etcher! :+1:

very nice study !

Hey Etcher, just saw the thumbnail.
You make it clear that PaintStop is very powerful.
I love all your studies and sketches. GREAT WORK!
Thanks for the warning – it is very addictive indeed.
In fact, Im so PaintStop obsessed that Ive had a dream about it. LOL

CrazyMatt: thanks Matt, glad u like and thanks for dropping me a line! Regarding your question: I scanned a blank page of my sketchbook, I created a new Paintstop document of the same pixel dimensions and resolution as the scan, then I used the Tracing button to load the image into PaintStop (Tracing->Load Image), then, I did a Merge with Canvas (Tracing-> Merge with Canvas).Best would be to merge the image with the bottom layer and draw/paint on the top layer because, when you draw straight onto the merged image and then use the eraser, you’ll erase the image of the sketchbook page too. Let it sink in and give it a try – you’ll love it! Looking forward to your PaintStop experiments!

Maxinkuk: Hey Max! Thanks for stopping by and the awesome comment man! Yeah, I love working with traditional charcoal and conté and I have to say, PaintStop gave me nearly the exact same feel. Take time to play some pore Max, you’ll see that PaintStop is a top product, describing it as a plug-in wouldn’t do it justice! You’ll understand that I’m anxious to see what you come up with in the next few days!

Intervain: Magdalena, I cannot thank you enough for this awesome comment, you know what it means to me coming from an artist like you. Strange isn’t it: the silhouette image was one of the first images that came to mind when I first launched Paintstop; all those great brushes at my fingertips, and I’m coming up with this simple silhouette…. Regarding it’s meaning, well, it’s not Axl… it is The Omen… .Big thank you for commenting on these drawings, You are a great painter, so, needless to say that I’m looking forward to your PaintStop works!

Mutte696: no worries Maarten, didn’t lose my Z-force! I worked out some new characters using PaintStop, and I will sculpt them in the next weeks to come! Hey, I saw your new updates in the turntable gallery, man that DeathTank is a classic! Thanks for stopping by man, I hope to see some PaintStop work of you soon!

Captain Sensible: Hey Chris, thank you man! I’ve got some more PaintStop work comin’ up in the next few days-lemme’know what you think! Am so proud to be in the demo vid! PaintStop is great Chris, free up some time to give it a serious test spin, you won’t ever look back!

Yona: Yes Cédric! The update! Yeez man, how many weeks has it been? So glad I could post! Thanks for the great comment!Regarding PaintStop: it is excellent, you have to free up time to work with it, it will be so rewarding, especially because you love to work with traditional media. If ZBrush felt comfortable to you, I’m sure that PaintStop will give you the same feeling right away: I’m looking forward to your TTM updates; throw in PaintStop to do some color testing, you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Hey man, congratz on the contest outcome, lookin’forward to seeing some pics of the print. :+1: !

Intervain: you’re not as ignorant as you think you are, you’ll see… .Say, Magdalena, you are not a great painter eh, would you mind telling me who painted those 2d works on your website, cause those are made by a great painter… :+1: ! Thanks for the support!

sshark: hey Josh, thanks for taking the time to drop me a line and nice comment! Glad u like! Say Josh, me being a fan of those over the top series like CSI and Bones - I loved seeing your work on the mummy and the victim reconstructions on your website.
