Pretty cool, now disturb it with Noise. It’s a bit too “Quilted Northern.”

Ha, yeah I know what you mean. I’m using 3.1 so no fancy noise brushes for me, but I’ll go over it with some alphas, the old fashioned way, to break things up more. Thanks for the feedback, man.

wow nice details

Thanks! Something that has helped me quite a bit is to block out some of the pattern design using polypaint before I started sculpting it in.

Also, I did a quick paintover in Photoshop. Eventually I’d like to put armor on this guy.

Great
Reminds me of dinotopia.

With the rider in that position he wouldn’t be able to fight very well. He looks too scrunched up and a bit too forward on the animal. Try moving him back, over the animals hip bones where he wouldn’t bounce around as much and have him upright more, like a jouster.

Finished with the scales, and broke it up a bit with some rock/stone alphas. Here’s a closeup of the head.

Great work, the added randomness from the rock alphas really gave it some realism with the imperfections. :+1:

YEAH!!! I like seeing dinosaurs as vehicles! that actually looks like a realistic setup too.

This is a great piece of work! Love the details. The one thing that bothers me slightly are the iguana-like circles on the cheek. Only from the point of view that nature doesn’t like perfect circles, squares etc. Otherwise, awesome stuff, I love the Parasaurolophus, one of my top five dinos!

Thankyou for the link back Dustin, you’ve helped me out with something I couldnt work out.Ive been doing it by feathering selections over layers with the gausian blur (for years) .I just posted one made the old way, hopefully the last! I havent ever had any training so stumble along is my methods, thanks for being kind enough to help out.

Incredible thread you have here by the way.Gonna keep an eye in here .
Best of luck to you ,cal

I’ve been trying to round out my portfolio with more hard body and environment work, so here are some early attempts at that. Poly modeled in 3ds max, rendered with mental ray. Textures will be painted in ZBrush.

Barrett .50 cal M107

Nice job on the gun. I like Your Jordu Schell creature too. Keep it comin’ :+1:

 Really dig the Hard surface stuff man, great work on the rifle. Is that based on the Barrett? Great work man, knowing you its all quads :p. Keep up the good work Dustin.

Thanks guys. Yeah it’s the Barrett .50 caliber sniper rifle. Ha, I definitely had to sneak in a few tris here and there, but it’s like 98% quads. As long as it subdivided nicely in max I knew I could bring it into ZBrush without problems.

I’m aware that road barrier image is pretty lame right now, but once I dirty it up with textures it should be much more interesting to look at. That’s what I’m hoping anyway.
