Heart dissection.
Wow you are really getting to know your anatomy inside and out. Cool stuff.
Thank you Rick, I am left with only a few people for whom I still publish here, and you are among them. Your comment always gives me new hope that what i do isn’t something I should keep to myself and be ashamed of. Otherwise it would be quite pointless to publish here if people wouldn’t give feedback. Once again thank you for all your support,
Cheers
Dmitrij
Hey cherub, great work as always! You’re work is a strong argument for me to look at Keyshot.
Only 3 threads on ZBC have more views than yours, so you can be certain that people love your stuff.
You’re just so productive that they may not feel like commenting every time, especially if there isn’t much to criticize
Keep it up
Thank you for your nice words MattSkinny! I personally think it’s a great software since it lets you not worry too much about anything really hehe. But since it’s a software with pretty realistic idea behing it in terms of material and lighting, for best sss results you will sadly have to insert a skull muscle and skin thickness beneath your faces and bodies not to have occurances like sss passing through the thickness of a wrinkle, and if you sacrifice that then you lose sss on the ear etc, in short they don’t have the sss isolation slot because they feel it’s not a good enough simulation of real.
Hmm, that’s interesting, especially since I’m so into busts with skin
I’m thinking, if I really get into another renderer, than it better be as good as possible.
Then again VRay is so complex, and Keyshot sounds SOOO convenient.
We’ll see, I’ll let you know what I come up with
thx
No problem, you can try Keyshot demo first to see if it fits your needs.
Hi! A lot of work this last month so wasn’t able to do much personal stuff, I was interviewed by Keith Lee (who was among other things one of the producers of Diablo3) for his new website 3DRubicon. if someone is interested you can find the interview here: http://blog.3drubicon.com/
But I’ve finally found time yesterday to start on my rendition of Imperfect Cell. I have never watched Dragon Ball Z, so I’ve browsed the internet a bit and found Cell to be very inspiring for me. Here are first shots of a work in progress. I won’t be joining the challenge though.
Color test
Trying out stuff.
Imperfect cell would’ve been one of my top choices also, such an interesting character design. Love the thread, and this work Cherub! The only thing that seems a tiny bit off to me, is the connection from hip area to the upper thighs, as it seems a little wobbly. That might have been your intention, though
I also understand your point of view about posting works. It seems that useful critique has become so scarce lately, not just on ZBC but on most communities I used to frequent. It nearly defeats the purpose of posting works, as one word praise and short compliments rarely do anybody any good, except a temporary inflation of the ego maybe :P. Though you don’t get many comments, I appreciate you still posting works, as they are something refreshing from the daily CG style phases everybody seems to pass through.
Hey Polaroid! Thank you very much for stopping by. I agree about your comments, both regarding Cell and the general lack of critique. Means a lot to me to get some recognition for what I do or better to say why I do, not only ego-wise but your comment really stroke a note with me, with doing what one likes and not what is expected of them, though I understand that line is very thin now.
I expect I will put more thought into Cell if time will let me and inspiration drive me as it has these last couple of days
Cheers

Really cool character. The Grey render has a lot going on in it for me.
Thanks Arthaven! Yah I’m thinking I won’t do him in green for the final, I would like to have this feel with some mixture of grey and brown-yellow when it comes to texturing.
Wow, this is super cool!
Oh man, Cell is great!
Thanks Santis!
Started out as a doodle trying out different techniques, and finished as:
“Hedwig the owl taking a night bath”
Zbrush + Keyshot
Really cool cherub
 Cool indeed!
Watching this thread for quite some time now and I like your development.
Keep it up,J.
Thank you guys! Means a lot Jmeyer! I adore your works.
