DMAN3D - Sketchbook, WIPS and Evolution

Ok another WIP but there is a story…

This is Sporkus, Son of Spoon, Son of Fork.
Demon Lord of Spoons, lesser ruler of flatware, tongue scourge, ruiner of ice cream and plague of prisons.

More to come as it comes to me.
Cheers,

that is really funny. I don’t usually comment but you had me at son of spoon and ruler of flatware.

You owe it to yourself to get that printed out in 3D and actually made into a spoon:)

ha ha thanks man, glad it made someone laugh. Still chewing on some ideas there. Have not been doing too much recently, lost my muse. At any rate I hope to keep improving.

I would love to finish that up and have an actual spoon made of it.

Started having dreams about this one. Been out of it for a bit and decided to do some photoshop work mainly with this. Pretty much following the guidelines posted by DustinBrown here on page 2[b](http://zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=66026&page=2)

Blood and what not painted in Pshop as well. Still sort of feeling this one out. Probably go back to working on the model again at some point. Just wanted to try comping ZB renders in pshop along with the lens blur bit. Done it with other 3d renders but never with ZB. Handy.

Anyway
Cheers

really amazing work here, I love your stuff. Great spoon and awesome skeleton piece a page back.

I really like your sculpts, very interesting. Especially your spoon and the skull.

Thanks guys, hope to keep making stuff thats at least interesting! Work on the Wyrm some more tonight, I hope…

Hi Dustin, updates are comin’ along fine! Definitely love the spoon and the backstory-more backstories please! :+1: !

Hey Etcher thanks for the words. :+1:

Okay one more update. Still working with the comp renders from ZB->Pshop. Used the trick of zapplink to “save a camera” (view) to help me do mulitple sessions while I played with what mats work for what. Answered graciously by goldo_o here: http://zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=69288&page=2&pp=15

Here it is, oh and I think maybe the blood is not from a victim but the transformation. If thats so he needs bloody eyes and nose. Anyone have a thought on that?

The last one. The legacy of the Wyrm.

Cheers, (might be a full on story in there somewhere, see what I dream)

Evil! Love it! :+1: nice blood!

Thanks Etcher :+1:

Ok another revamp of an earlier model.
Really into this b/w with gore thing. No idea why but Im having fun making them so forgive me if you can for doing some redundant looking stuff.

As in the earlier post of this guy, another wandering effort. Sort of going for an
alien, humanoid, horse shoe crab feel.

They sort of have that 1950’s horror flick feel but modern to me I suppose, dunno anyway…

A side note on the Legacy of the Wyrm. I think inspired by 30 Days of Night and songs from Meshuggah and Nile. Cheers -d

Legacy of Wyrm is very cool. I especially like that it seems child-like. Creepy.

I used to be a huge Meshugga fan. Shook their drummer’s giant paw-hand one time. I know Neil Blevins is really in to those guys as well.

Very nice work

I love the renders

Ty guys.
Yeah all of Meshuggah are monsters (skill), like machines, been listening mainly to Obzen.
I would love to re-create that ablum cover in Z, need more skill first. The photographer that did it has some pretty amazing stuff.

Never met Blevins but been aware of him and seen his stuff for years of course. Cool to hear there are other metal heads creeping about still.

Dustin, I love these B&W / Blood pics. Just imagine having these printed out live size and painted, presented in a white expo hall… .Don’t stop dreaming/creating man! :+1: !

Love your last two characters, and the spoon is superb aswell, though, wouldnt wanna have such dishes, kinda scary
Keep em coming!

@Etcher: thanks man and will do!
@Air: glad to you like them, ty, yeah anything would taste aweful!

Ok back into a concept phase. Been really happy using Z as both a quick concept and modelling tool. When it comes to working through ideas I need all the help I can get.

The head here was already modelled (Horned scourge) decided to re-use it for this piece. The body and pshop is about 1hour or so of poking about.
Sort of a continuation of the Demonology I piece, may still work with it and/or this as well. Perhaps some combination. There is still is something there I am after I cannot seem to see fully, only milky visions of it.

This is an emissary of Set sent to the earth to settle disputes that do not anger him enough to come personally. There is of course no discussion in either case.

(Yes listening to too much Nile and thinking about Age of Conan)

Cheers,

I want that f***ing spoon on page three so bad. I would start every day with an evil grin over my breakfast cereal…

Ditto, that spoon is metal as fudge. My peanut butter cap’n cruch will be flavorless until I eat it with the spoon of the damned.
