My attempt at my first female character. tuff stuff man Grrrr!!

Hey dude ! Some cool work here, i like your brain eater.

You have a good start for your female chartacter, but i have a few crits:

  • the interior end of the eyes might be too deep. Try to move it forward to have something less deep, it will looks less manly.
  • the orbit bone after the exterior end of the eyes is very sharp.
  • you have to crease the flesh under the whole lower lip. Touch your own to find out.
  • the straight line on the chin looks a bit weird… Usually it’s on the lower part of the chin.
  • the forehead have a kind of edge on it. I see you tried to put some bone structure on the forehead, wich is important, but you have to smooth this edge quite a lot.
  • IMO the top of the skull is a bit narrow, but it’s not anatomically wrong.
Do you plan on some likeness ?

Keep it going, it’s a hard exercice but it’s very usefull.

 Hey HellGrind, Thx’s! I totally agree with the crits, I already made some changes relating to your crit. I think her eyes looking to deep was cause of her mouth jetting out to far and her nose. No at the moment I have been going off the top of my head. Referencing on some anatomy books here and there. LoL yea its a hard exercise, def out of my comfort zone.

Here are some more updates on the female model. Going to have to retopo her at some point, that unified skin mesh can go only so far…:o

Here is a matcap dump of mine. A couple materials I setup sometime back figured I share with everyone.

Thank you for sharing all the MatCaps!

However, please don’t take up the thumbnails at the top of the forum with multiple images. Either wait for your previous thumbnail to drop off before making a new post or edit your prior post so that a new thumbnail won’t be created. That way everyone gets an equal opportunity for exposure.

Thanks!

(I have edited your previous posts so that only one thumbnail is up.)

no problem aurick, I posted multiple post not for the thumbnails, but because I wanted each set to be organized with one attachment. Sorry about the thumbnail issue and thanks for correcting it

Lion on the bottom right is from the Chain Bridge in Budapest, right? looking forward to more thanks

Thanks for sharing your work with us and the matcaps. Good technique. Looking forward to checking out the updates.

Cool materials, but I’m having issues with them. Perhaps they are 3.5 specific… 3.1 (pc) at work won’t load with them installed, and 3.2 (osx) at home specifically tells me there are errors with materials and will not load them. Any thoughts?

Thanks for sharing! :+1: !

No problem, hope you guys get some use out of them.

d100763 - not sure when I grab reference I don’t pay attention, but its a great model to reference.

spaz8 - yea sorry I forgot to mention these are for ZB 3.5(Pc). Would be nice if one could export the mat cap images, that way they could be put together in osx or zb 3.1.

Doing some hand studies for fun. Working to shape up those anatomy skillz

nice so far ! i would suggest to larger the thumb and the little finger they are little bit to short/smal…

Thx’s O/MI! I’ve seen your work over on sinister. Awesome Stuff. I went ahead and retopoed and cleaned up the hand sculpt, also adjusted the pinky and thumb slightly. It was hard for me to see that problem, but my co-workers also pointed it out so it must be so

Started to focus more on the females body again. Muahahahah! That just didn’t sound right… Either way laying out the muscles and working on the proportions.

here is an art dump of the work I’ve done over the past year working at America’ Army.
