David Macias workbook

Created this using Modo for the first time, for a holiday contest. Everything was done in modo, except little Maximilian the mouse. He was sculpted in Zbrush and brought into modo. Renders composited in Photoshop final touches in After Effects.
Figure I would start an actual workbook/sketchbook thread for myself.

cool work man:+1:

Thanks man!

I love it. But may i give you a little Feedback?
My Feedback for your Work is:
All things on the Room are very Great, but the Mouse i found not so detailed. I think it’s the hair on the Mouse.
For my Feelings it’s my Advice for you: Make more in the Air fine Hairs on the Mouse, and Shadow under the Feet of the Mouse (for example in Photoshop), then is the Composing/Image perfect.

This is only a Feedback… i don’t can make this better. I’m self a beginner on zBrush. g

I’ts just that what i see in your Image. ;o)

But i love your Image/Work. It’s a great work. :+1:

I am making a realistic beast based on Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.

I may be re-lighting and posting again sometime.
Next posts will be more “Beast” progress.

Still have tons to do. I have to pose him, add fur, sculpt a cloak, sulpt extra details, paint a few more colors in, render, and composite.
(this isn’t a BPR)

Here it is guys, my realistic Beast. I call it “Wolfsbane” because it’s themed around that moment in the Disney movie where he fights off all of the wolves. obviously based off of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.Beast_cmprsd_adj_jpeg2.jpg

Hello You,

i like the beast - the fur is well done. dunno how to do something like that!
Something like fiberbrush? The eyes dont seem to work for me - but eyes
are difficult…

Happy new year!

Thank you very much, i personally considered darkening the eyes a bit, because they are brighter than usual, but i felt that in such a dark scene it worked, but my main reason for having them this way is that i felt it brought some of that cartoon character in. I may consider tweaking it though.

Thank you! I agree i was going to add the fur in photoshop but it slipped my mind due to the contest deadline. I don’t really see the foot shadow thing but i will take a look. Good eye

after much more reworking, my finalized images are much stronger. I revisited the eyes, and im happier with the result. I also made subtle changes to his fur and the overall image brightness. I brought highlights to his face to create a stronger focus.

For the mouse, I went ahead and did the fur for the rim lights, and I did find that under the mouses left foot there needed more shadow. Thank you guys!

Here is my latest piece. Sculpted from Bobby Chiu’s “****aturtle” Concept

Done in about 5 days in spare time.
(It’s not exactly 100 % the same by the way)

Here is his image

I will post the timelapse soon.
