I have always wanted to try creating my own version of Abe, one of my favorite game Characters. I decided I would only create a bust, and create it in full detail. I studied over 10 reference images, a handful of videos, and all the different styles that Abe has been created as, to create the version I find most appealing to me. I also used this as an opportunity to try out Renderman 20, and render in the new RIS mode. I hope to get a chance to work on an Oddworld game in the future. www.davidjmacias.com
Just love this one. One of my favorite games. Thanks for sharing.
I decided to sink my teeth into a 3D ice cream model. Sculpted with Zbrush.
It was a good opportunity to learn Octane and also sharpen up my Renderman knowledge,
since that is what I ended up finishing with. I also composited the cone and ice smoke into the image during compositing.
I plan to revisit the cone and sculpt a new version when I get the chance.
I saw an awesome concept of little Jack Skellington by Will Terry. I’ve been wanting to make Jack in 3D for a while and I was inspired to make a version based on Will’s concept. I always loved the scene where he crumbles the ornament into the beaker and it glows green, I’m glad I was able to put that in here!

A project to play around with Renderman 21.
I Decided to sculpt a fun water beast, I always love mythical sea creatures, it’s almost like a different planet down there.
Very cool work! I love the little chibi-ish skellington,
