small update
A quick test based on the movie Avatar (obviously ) I’m not sure about the face anatomy, pretty hard to have a good result. I’m not very satified of that one. I’m still loving sculpt environments stuff. That one was just a quick test.

Here is my next project, based on a mindblowing concept from Uncharted 2. I plan to build a fully textured lowpoly game asset. Updates will come soon
I really have to show some texture works, so i will !

Hi vertexfusion !
For me there is not really a better way to create game characters. I really love to work with zspheres and then convert them into polys. You have much more control than in Maya or 3DsMax. But sometimes, it interesting to begin with a basemesh in maya. I think it depends of your character and your affinities with a specific workflow.
For the character “Protopopescu”, i start with Zspsheres to block the main shape of his body and face. I convert them into poly and start modelling some basemeshes (like his trouser, vest, bag ect) and place them on maya. Then i swith to Zbrush and start to sculpt all the character into a final HD mesh.
I import the HD into Maya and use the plugin called “NEX” to build the lowpoly mesh directly on the HD (with a system of magnetic vertices, very useful !) Now i have my final ingame lowpoly character.
To back the normal, occlusion ect… i use Xnormal. You simply have to import you HD and Lowpoly meshes (with unfolded UV’s) and generate the textures.
This is my workflow, but sometimes i start with a basemesh in Maya, again it really depends of your mood and your affinities. Each way is a good way for me
Bye !
David.

congratulations
can you show the wire frame of the last image? how did you make this tag?
HI Eiad !
The feather was made with Zspheres. The mesh is not completely finished. It’s to clean for me. It was a quick study i did several months ago. But it was interesting to sculpt ! even if i’m not completely convinced
Totally amazing and inspiring work
Some new environments stuffs will come soon ! I’m a little bit busy at the moment, but don’t worry, i will keep my post alive and share some textures work
Thanks again for all your replys ! So motivating !
