Crits n Grits - the starts of a gallery...hopefully

WOW! :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

thanks dude, means a lot and helps to keep me motivated

The humanoid get’s lost in the color pick (his camouflage so cool!) Maybe you should make a comic strip of it with him striking. love your undersea world.

Yep, the colours and contrasts will be a tough one to balance, even more so when I put some dappled light on the main plants and chameleon guy… but I’m trusting that I can pull that off, better than the sculpting anyways, because it’s more my area of expertise.
He’s also going to get raised into the picture more and be more prominent, which will help too i hope

Thanks for the comment

Blimey, long time no sculpt, let alone post! Finally got to try out fibremesh, very cool, but difficult to groom? … guess I just need some more practice.
Need to figure out how to do some eyebrows too &

Old man FibreMesh 01-Lo-Fi.jpg
probably need to push the coverage & twist values of the fibers to see if I can get a thicker, more caricatured style in keeping with the head sculpt, but got to say it’s great fun!
Micromesh test next! YAY

This guy is cool great job for the first attempt at fibermesh

Thought I’d make a bit of time to get used to dynamesh…
need to go through the vids again though because I can’t
remember how to do the subtraction thing.
Alien 01c.jpg
1h 20 sketch from a dynasphere, with some PS post work to adjust contrasts

Under the Geometry tab (You know where you divide reg models), halfway down under Clay Polish, you will see the “Dynamesh” button, once it’s highlighted you will be able to divide the model by holding ctrl and dragging. (Do this on the side of the model, not over it). Below the Dynamesh botton is the “Resolution” slider, This slider only matters if you want to retain the details you have already sculpted. THe higher the resolution the more densh the mesh, if it’s too low, some detial could be lost.

Then there are various other things there that can give various effects.

Sorry is I am not that detail,… maybe your video is better. I hope I helped a little.

Thanks for that, it was just the subtraction thing that I’d forgotten.
Another dynamesh sketch, 2h from dynasphere

Wow I love the glowy nature scene with the tree man thing and your stylised art style in general is awesome. keep it up:D

Another dynamesh doodle, just playing with silhouettes… probably around 3h for this one + a little PS post work
Cyclops.jpg

Trying to find the time to get back into ZB after months & months of 2D vector work… i’ve missed it and this version is so much more awesome than when I left off.
So much to learn now though, and feeling a bit dunce-like  Have to try out micromesh and the new Lightcap stuff…

Thanks guys, means a great deal to me!
Another dynamesh doodle
trying hard to get back into all things 3D, but shattered and burned out after a hard day’s technical illustrations…
probably explains the odd horns
