Crits n Grits - the starts of a gallery...hopefully

damnit, now you got me hungry!

so, do tell what exactly is stupidly powerful hardware?

makes me think that I havn’t had steak in a while. Mmmmmm meaty goodness !!

I don’t really like meats at all but this is a great render

That last bust is just excellent for an hour of work. I wish I was that skiiled. I agree with you. You should do more of those. The slab of beef is exceptionally done as well, great texture work.

Looks great :+1: !

Man your control over the details makes me want to cry. Does that take a lot of time to get done? Also i’d love it if you point me to some of the tutorials you’ve been watching, cheers mate, fantastic work!

Thanks very much guys… the actual renders are over 4 times the size of the images here; i think the plan is to display and zoom in to show off details… not entirely sure but will find out tomorrow

Julian, some very high-spec’d i7 12core machines

Taalart, the whole thing took around a week and a half, that includes stitching textures together from photos, (to get only the most delicious details :)), working the sculpt around those details, then adding extra sculpt details and polypainting those back into the texture…

I do think looking close up that you can see where i often got bored - the strokes are sometimes too broad, sweeping, generalised, some of the texture details aren’t painted in where they were vblurry…but the whole works, so i’m happy enough to leave it at this

These new multipass renders have been great fun and BPR rocks!

Last one of the meat… a couple of shark renders coming

Fantastic!

This meat is stunning… makes me hungry :stuck_out_tongue:

Starting to drool… I think i’ll have to get a steak out of the freezer for supper tonight…

Fantastic Job…:+1:

Thanks guys … promise to pop by and see what you’ve all been up to as soon as this is all over!
trust me though, a week of looking at that was nearly enough to turn me vegtarian (i’m sure my wife’d love that though :))

Here is another stupidly big render, this time of our shark:
Modelled by Darran Knight
polypaint/spotlight textured by me

Enjoyed doing a fake sss on tooth, but need to model more detail into it first before really going to town on that one

Show tomorrow…nervous, excited… wibble :slight_smile:small Tooth 02.jpg

one last one, because it was fun and it has the feel of the alien poster with the egg… might make a good poster for our movie

Yes H ,

Fantastic Machines

It was a fast machine i 7 12core . the fact that it was a duel CPU machine with 24 cores . 48 rendering threads .

Cinebench scores were through the roof ,when I saw them setting up and testing for the show at this chaps house.

And as a teaser ,because H has mentioned that we have a new sponsor . A official announcement has to be made ,which takes a little time .

Lets just say we dont have another software sponsor .

Very nice machine indeed
:sunglasses:

Great Work Herman as always and your matte of the JAWS movie sky is gonna rock !

Heres to swimming with bow legged women !

After seeing how excellent Darukin’s latest sculpt was, but that he wasn’t as confident with his texturing, I wondered whether it 'd be possible to texture a model without spotlighting or polypainting at all but rather layering up lots of different Zmaterials, comping them together, and simply erasing what wasn’t needed/wokring…
I’ve had enough for the evening, so jsut added some quick mats for lighting, but it’s quite clear that actually you could just work with Zmats …
…of course, if someone knows how to blend between mats when painting them on in ZB, that’d be best of all?

<!----> Now doing a quick paint-over just to wrap it up... tight specular highlights and starting to paint some dried saliva trails, eyebrow remains, etc... finish... soon...![zombie 01e.jpg|1005x1024](upload://mxeqOQ000l90Kg735hPonsiTPkz.jpeg)

WOWZERS like it very much

Looking nice and gory Herman. I would suggest that you use gravity on your brush when you do skin folds and wrinkles. Give it a try !!

Great Job man !!! :+1:

Disgusting. Especially the tongue and maggots. Great sculpt & texturing/materials experiment :+1:  !

Fun doodling between Sculptris and ZB…

Now it’s all roughed out (and I think it finally scans?), it’s time to sculpt all the elements properly

Finally, a bit of time for some progress…
extended the height of the concept to make it feel a little more claustrophobic, submerged in the foliage, though for that to work i might do more of a worm’s eye view…
… started as my first doodle in Sculptris, but i’m modelling the various elements properly in ZB now as i feel more comfortable detailing there
