For the hard edges I use different ways. In this case I build the most of the form
in a low level (80K polys) with the standard, clay, smooth and the move brush.
I try to do most I can in a level then I go one level further and refine the same parts
even more. I use the pinch brush mostly only in higher level (with a value of 10/-10).
Just as I use masks in higher level for things like bigger holes (mask and
deformation/inflate).
The model has still the same topology like the base mesh (human head) so that I
can morph the in between’s. The final model has 1.5 Mio polys and is one part.

This is amazing Stuff Ralf! i envy you having the time and talent to do this amazing work. Your models are all so… well clean and detailed! I’d love to sit and watch your workflow over your shoulder.
As a MASSIVE fan of the Dune novels (Frank Herbert’s anyway) it’s nice to see your views on how you think the characters look. Both the TV show and the movie did such a bad job of bringing these characters to life, yet your imagination seems to see the characters in sort of the same light I do. The navigator was very original and I have to say when I saw it, I thought it had the right amount of alien meets human. And Baron Harkonan! Spot on!
Really cool stuff, I love the Scary Toons and hope to see them come to the big screen someday.
Your alien concepts are also very detailed and the Alien/Predator hybrid is amazing.
Awwwwww I could go on all day. Well done in general!
