I’ll be the first to admit that people may have the same ideas… but…and it is a very nice model… but… your chicken creature looks very much like this drawing at the bottom of this web page… is this where you got the idea?
I can say that because I did that old drawing. Yours is much better. Better anatomy, proportions … etc… very nice job. I would love to see it walking.
Excellent work ! I really like all the details Well done.

Pixelmed: Looks a bit like mine indeed Cool creature, I didn’t see it before though. I got my inspiration from a photo of a featherless chicken. Which was pretty gross to see. From there on I’ve stared concepting, and looking at other reptiles to find interesting parts. But if you break it down, I think everybody could have thought of a chicken with arms. It’s not renewing
hahahaha, love it love it love it - I am creature person myself - you just put a smile on my face - Thanks
Superb job! The amount of detail is amazing. Looking forward to your next post.
great job and just made the bump in zbrush, very good
Jelmer,
Well, you’ve made quite a splash with this entry! The head shape reminds me of the ‘Roc’ in “The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad”. If you haven’t seen it, it might bring you a smile. I’m very glad you shared this entry. Please keep up the fine work!
Yes Jelmer, hyper1 is correct. That does look like the critter from the Sinbad movie, should have got that earlier. Great flick. Always great to be compared to work contained in a Harryhaussen film.
That’s a very nice model you have. I would like to know how you generated the little hairs for the creature. In XSI?
nice work!
Mike
hey jelmer,
just wanted to congratulate you on a very well rounded character. your concept is top notch, and your exicution of the model is sweet.
Only crit… your background should be lighter, this will help bring out the siloute.
nice

Hey Man,
Amazing work.
I was in 3d34.
Feels like a couple of generations ago…
Anyways,
Keep up the good work.
Cheers,
Abhi
Amazing work.
Yeah, I love this kind of stuff. Especially like the way the feet and toes are done. Very realistic.
It looks like a plucked phorohacos, which WAS in a Harryhausen film, Mysterious Island.
Anyway, looks really good. No real crits from me.
awesome!
Delightful!
