Really amazing stuff :)!
Funny, and another great sculpt!
I love the whole Frankenstein’s Monster concept, but like you whenever I try and make my own version, certain things just appear and fit into place, a flat top, bolts, droopy eyelids, big brow… isn’t it just maddening!!!
I think Tom Noonan in The Monster Squad was about a far away as you can get before it ain’t Frankie any more, but he still had to have the big scar his forehead, some bolts, green… etc…
De Niro’s character was more realistic of a fashion, however it was a complete deviation from the first image popping into your head when someone shouts the the word “Frankenstein” at you.
It’s like taking a werewolf and re-concepting it bald with no sharp teeth, and no sharp claws… Frankenstein’s Monster is Frankenstein’s Monster, and he is made up certain parts that have to come with the name. Other wise he is just some un-dead guy with bits of other dead guys.
Even so, this sculpt is in my top 3 or 4 for the whole project! Well done sir!
Nearly there now!! Keep going!
Right on Cesar. Listen, I have a question… how would you go about making a ‘glass like’ surface. I know you mainly deal in Character creation, but, I was wondering, if you were to create a Character that was both organic and Hard Surface (like we see so many here at ZBrushCentral), how would you go about it? You see, down the road, I would love to sculpt a cool car and would like some insight as to how to make the body of the car nice and smooth (or a characters armour). Best, Dragon.
PS: Yes, IN CLAY, not digital (sorry, just wanted to clarify).

Woah!! For some reason I didn’t get the email to tell me you had posted!
Just watched video 1, and I gotta say, yet again you are talking right at me!
Boring story for you here:
I have had an internal struggle for over 6 years (calling it artists block) where I new I could draw, paint, sculpt and CGI but every time I put pencil to paper, picked up the digital pen, or the paint brush, I would freeze up. I’ve not been able to get over it. I had created reasonable work before, so what was the issue? I didn’t know but never really gave up. Even though it went on for over 6 years!!
After watching one of your monster videos where you talked about working through the tough bits, and the bits you don’t like doing, suddenly I can’t stop creating! It’s been like it for weeks now! Got half way through my sketch book! But I still couldn’t put my finger on why I was so stuck for so long! Not that it should matter now, but I would like know all the same.
Then… this first video in the new series… it’s just like it’s made for me to answer that question! Honestly man, I really can’t thank you enough. I know this change came from within me, but you sparked it off! And this first video just made me realise what the problem was after all this time. I hated failing, and I hated being frustrated… that was it! I wanted every creation to be a top quality without pain!
Now… I just want to create and learn, and I almost look forward to failing so I can move to the next creation!
It’s stunning someone of your talent and experience is offering this info out simple care. Cheers Cesar! I mean that man.
