That costume is soo epic!small_orange_diamond
Thanks for sharing your process. The YouTube time-lapse is inspiring. What was the solution you were brushing on the
clay, turpenoid or something else? It really smooths the clay (Monster Clay correct?) Thanks again.
Hi Guys it has been a while. I havenāt been ZBrushing a lot lately but I have been printing some of my old ZTools . Here is a 3D print of my Popeye which I originally modeled 7 years ago. Hard to believe that itās been 7 years. Anyways not quite finished with him I took a photo to see how he was looking and to help decide what more needs to be done to him and thought that I would share it with you.
I printed this on my Maker Bot which I bought recently at a charity event auction. I didnāt really expect to be able to get good printouts of my ZBrush models but I figured that it would be fun to play with. I must admit that I am surprised with what you can get with a printer of this price. Mind you I had to do a lot of cleanup, probably should have done more but , still for something in this price range not to shabby. Everything was printed except for the collar and the pipe stem. Iāll do a little more work on him and take some better photos.
holy crap. Fan-freaking-tastic.
Wow! Fantastic print. Just how large is this in inches if I may ask? Cheers!
Cool. How big is it? ~S.~
p.s. - Happy New Year!
Rick,
This just takes the cake!
Calling this work Amazing is very weak understatement!
Kudos!
Seriously! Iāve been wondering, are you using Zbrush and 3D printing to generate make_up appliances from molds made of 3D prints?
OH I forgot to say! This has to be TOP ROW!
CHEERS!
Wow Rick ! Very Nice print ,Detail Wow with that 3d printer .How tall is it Rick ?
Gary

And what kind of paint did you use?
Also the eye looks great! did you replace it with a hand made eye?

Thanks guys, Iāll post more photos tomorrow. To answer the popular question the head is about four inches from the chin to the top of the head. The whole thing from the base to the top of the hat is about 11 inches
OMG!
As always, your work hit the imagination!
Yeah! Thatās totally outstanding stuff!
Incredible and inspiring as always. Rick, youāre the best!

Thanks guys here are a couple more shots ,one with my hand so you can see the size, and another with a smaller version painted like metal.
Thatās one hell of a piece.
