Brett's Sketchbook

Thanks guys. I’ve updated the previous picture as it was a tad blurry. Late night eyes do that to me. haha.

Crazy Horse: Maya.

[email protected]: Cool. Lets fry this sucker up.

Jason Belec: Haha. Nice. They do everything!!! Its a really cool pet. Definitly worth the money

bneall: Thanks. Ye I decided to add a freakin chromatic abberation at the last minute. Doh! I changed it. I just replaced the previous image. Thanks again Ben.

industripop: Thanks dude. The previous render the colours were dull and grey. Also I decided to just do this as I’m tired of it. HAHAHA. Sorry mate.

johnfnoo: Haha. Niice. Another one

threetails: Thanks dude. Glad you like this render. :+1:

Gorgeous Dude! :+1:

Brett,

I’ve been meaning to stop by and tell you congrats on finishing up you latest beast. It turned out really cool. You do good work my friend, you do good work!

Can’t wait to see what you create next!

Peace - NickZ.

brett!

great work man!!! what happened to the background for your model???
anyways great work man, keep it up!!

I have been rendered speechless for about 10 mins just looking at your crayfish man, and as my friends will attest to, that is a very rare thing indeed:o . He is just be-a-utiful:D . I did seem to like the little ball of light it seemed to give him even more character (to me anyway). Don’t get me wrong, love the water and the pure black back ground image…better to see you my dear…lol, but loved the light ball cause it made him look like he was wondering what the heck it was.

Why am I hungry for lobster now? oh lol.

hmmm… what’s taking you so long. get moving, post more…
just kidding. hope everything is cool. hope we can chat a bit soon…

piz: Thanks dude.

nickz: Thanks Bud. I love your stuff. You know that

nerveink: Ye I wanted to just finish the model and get it rendered. I may go back and sort a background out…Eventually. HAha.

Seavannah: HAha. Always a pleasure reading your comments. Thanks for all the help ;). I’ll keep the cheesy glow ball in mind :D. Sushi anyone? haha.

abyss103: Sheesh can’t a guy take a break! haha.

Here’s what I’ve been up to… 2 weeks in the making. Late nights and every hour I could get. haha. The shaders I used were Fatmiri’s GreyMetal shader and Sebcesoir’s skin wax. Thanks guys :+1:

Sorry for the reeeeaaallly long pics. I was lazy and just used zapplinks character sheet. Works great:D

Hope you like him. His my 1st “army” guy.

Cheers
Brett

Really awesome soldier design, game/movie quality!
:+1:

awesome work bru. keep it up!

great model ,i like the texture job on the armour ,my only crit would be the lips look a little too pink.

Wow man, freat renders. Love how the creature came out. The army guy looks really good. I really like the textureing and look of the overall character. I would love to see your maya lighting and shading network set-up. Keep up the great job!!

SO what was the workflow for this character like Because you’ve been doing some different methods as of recent… Just curious…I’m glad you told us how long you’ve been working on this piece because I sometimes think that you be knocking these models out in like three days but anyway

Did you start this as a sculpt and retopped or a different method (basemesh modeled in maya or something like that)? is this polypainted, UV layed out,? is this a zbrush render or maya or different?

Exciting turn out…looks good.

Can’t wait to see more

Wow, nice face for the soldier, really original!

However, my favorite piece in your sketchbook is the crayfish man. I simply LOVE this character. :+1: Genious!

great work dude! :+1:

ahh! so, that’s what you been up too. great work man.
haven’t i seen an early version of his head?
one small crit. think his arms are too long. or maybe his gloves are just placed to far out the arm.

keep up the amazing work.

Bryan Wynia: Thanks man. Love your viking.

alexleia: Thanks Alex. Your comments are always appreciated:D

AA-ron: Thanks for the compliment dude :+1:

mradamw: Thank you.

LIQUIDSNEEK: Thanks. The head was zapplinked from a picture. Maybe the guy had lipstick on. HAha.

pixolClay: Hey thanks. Lighting is nothing special. To area lights and an hdri…

selahpoetic: Hey thanks glad you like it. Its a zbrush render. Pretty standard workflow this time. Base mesh in maya…

I began laying out uv’s while sculpting. And just reimporting the new model with uv’s. Its a mixture between zapplink and polypaint.

goldo_O: Thanks dude. Your DW3 entry is sick! I love the fish creature around her. Good job. Thanks for the comment :+1:

rodion vlasov: Thanks Rodion. You getting better everyday dude :+1:

abyss103: Hey man. haha. I guess I got familiar with certain features of a face. So they tend to maybe look similiar? As this is a new sculpted head. :stuck_out_tongue:
I had a look at the arms. They seem fine to me. Hmmm :confused:CrayLighting.jpg
