If you have any good resources for vehicle modeling then share it with me
Hey All. Here is a female astronaut character I began some time ago and have just recently got around to finishing. She was all modelled in Zbrush using Dynamesh. Retopoed, textured and UVed in Zbrush as well. I made the HUD graphics in After Effects and rendered them as an image sequence on her visor in Maya. I also added a quick animation of her. The only thing I didn’t do in this piece was the audio… a soundbyte from Mass Effect 2. The first pic is a comped still from the animation, the second is a still of her basic head, and there is also a link to the vimeo animation too! Enjoy!

Hi there. Here are some sculpts I did over the last couple of months. I’m a huge fan of Derek Stenning’s art, and particularly liked his series of 6 characters in his Entartete Kunst Series. I started on one as a speed sculpt and bit of practise to learn new workflows, but enjoyed it so much, I decided to do the other 5! Modeled and polypainted in Zbrush, final textures in Photoshop, and rendered in Maya. Comped in AE. Enjoy!

A fun little character I created to work with some mocap data. Modelled and textured in Zbrush, and rendered in Maya using Mental Ray. Hair was done with GMH2.

Toying around with some lighting and liked how this one came out. From the original Derek Stenning tribute collection I did a while back:https://www.artstation.com/artwork/YB2nb Originally built in Zbrush, textured using Quixel, and rendered in Maya using Mental Ray. Comped in AE. Enjoy!

Love the tones of the face. Good work!
Hi there. Here’s the full clan based on my older sculpts. Learned a few new tricks and wanted to re-imagine my original series. I add lots more stuff up here too: https://www.instagram.com/mobotato/ Enjoy!

Hello. A sculpt based on a concept by Matt Thorup (@the_redbeard). His work is amazing and you should definitely check it out.
(I went a bit overboard on the eyes, but I was happy with where she ended up!)
I also added a little breakdown on how I go about putting these sculpts together.
Feel free to follow me on Instagram for other bits and pieces that don’t make it here ( www.instagram.com/mobotato/ )
Enjoy!

I happened upon a super cool 2D concept by Phillip Rauschkolb on Insta (@phillip.rauschkolb) and figured it’d be fun to make in 3D. Sculpted and retopo-ed in Zbrush, textured using Quixel, base made in Substance Designer, and all rendered using Redshift for Maya. Enjoy!

Hi All. I happened upon a cool concept by @limetown (Instagram) for a character named Lana. I referenced their original sketch, and wasn’t until after I finished that I realised they had updated her concept with a few tweaks and colours, but I liked this one all the same! It started as a speed sculpt, but pushed the details a little further as I learned some new workflows. Sculpted and rendered in Zbrush. Enjoy!
