great work, but gotta ask, how did you do the scales ? By hand sculpting, or an alpha ?
Big thanks, never thought someone will like it.
TheTurner: the polycount is 9k
Sparky3d: here a wire for you http://bischoffart.com/art/character/croc/wire.jpg
KillahPriest: its really nothing special. I pic a little area of the texture so you can see how it looks like. http://bischoffart.com/art/character/croc/diff_spec.jpg
slocik: every scale was made by hand. No alphas or masking. Just standart bursh and morphing later.
I liked previous render from cryengine better, but your sculpt and textures are superb. I have question about cryengine:
- do you use sandbox from crysis?
- is there easy setup of 3 point studio lightning? Cos it seems there is no easy way to delete sun and atmosphere, so I’m interested in how you render thoses. maybe scene setup would be cool.
Thanks for sharing.
You should give Marmoset toolbag a go
thats a badass texture job
Oh man, then thsi is even more amaziong, you really need to show your workflow for those scales ;D
This really has to be one of the most impressive low poly characters i saw recently, and thats including the dominance war ones ;]
the sculpt is amazing, it’s just the renders aren’t really doing it justice.
I really like the last render, feels like he belongs !!
Awesome !
good render maan and nice detailing on the character
JoseConseco: thanks. to answer your question. Yes i use sandbox from crysis3. Don’t know any 3point lightning. Is kind of easy to switch everything off and use point lights but sometime i like the sun. SO i use both way’s, its just a bit tricky.
Sparky3d: i love marmoset more as cryengine but this one was done extra for cryengine, but yeah maybe i should give it a try.
slocik: wow thank you a lot. Actually i did nothing special, just brush every fu…ng scale. Its a stupid way because waste of time, but i love to sculp and as long its for my and not a client, i will use this way. ;D
BillyT: sorry about that, but still you like the model so i am happy.
magalhaes & omarpac: thanks guys.
Here 2 more pics.

This is insane. Great job Thumbs up man.’’
those renders look unreal. please tell me you’re employed.
Thanks!
Tyrone70: at the moment i am unemployed.
SO i try Marmoset toolbag, love it… great tool. Just have to tweak the texture for the toolbag. Will do maybe…
Yaaaaay Bischoff you used marmoset
What do you mean by unemployed? I’m about to graduate and I would like to understand.
Aside, what are the maps you’re using for Marmoset toolbag? Thanks for sharing.
This kind of character well deserved this kind of renders small_orange_diamond

grate work! Can you show how uvs were looking like. I’m asking because I have problems with exporting displacement for two separate uv islands and I’m getting visible seam.
Eiad: that means i don’t have a job at the moment. But don’t worry, you will find a job as long you are good.
lukx: well, its nothing special because its a lowpoly ingame character and i also don’t use any displacement. anyway here the map http://bischoffart.com/maop.jpg
