Beginners Sketchbook (WIP)

Well I’m sure if I was getting paid someone would care. Hopefully I’ll work up to your speed if I keep at it.

Thanks. My original plan is to have a thread where I go from having trouble making spheres to being the next da vinci, but I’m still a little bit off.

Okay one more update on this guy then I’m done I swear.

I just keep seeing something different I want to fix every time I look at him and it’s driving me nuts.

Working on a super hero type character and really trying to get the silhouette and overall form down. If anyone sees anything that looks wrong please point it out.

by any chance are you using Scott Spencer’s Digital Sculpting Human Anatomy book? i just picked up a copy of it and am loving it, your progress so far looks like you are following the book. i like it alot, i hope my version of Cable comes out this well

Yes, it was probably the best money I’ve spent on learning how everything fits together. I saw your thread and you’re starting off better than me. I’m sure yours will turn out great.

Trying to learn how to render.

Thats with global illumination?

Is this rendered in zbrush?

It’s with global illumination and final gather actually.

Nope, not in Zbrush rendered in Maya. If you want to learn how to get the same effect check out this link in the tutorials section. Really helpful and also comes with a preset lighting rig.

GI renders are nice.

Yes, I am trying to figure out how to render as well; but in zbrush. I know it can be done as I have seem it someplace but I just have to play around and figure out how.

The first one of the scull is nice but still a bit too much light I think. The second one that you have there is totally washing out all of the hard work that you did on that cool model. Looking good though.

Hm perhaps. I’m still trying to figure it all out. I’ll spare you guys the thousands of variations though.

Here’s a really indepth tutorial by Bulgarov Vitaly on how to composite using Zbrush renders.

Good muscular form for the female, but you need to get your proportions right, unless your going for something stylized.
Also, the Jaw and calf musclesare a bit masculine… Yeah check those proportions and it’ll look great in the end

Some updates on stuff I’ve been working on.
