Thanks again everyone!
andreja: I did some work on Tsu’tey , I did a pratical sculpt (in clay) but it was changed quite a bit in the end .
Moat and Eytukan . were Photoshop first then worked out in clay then scanned and tweaked in zbrush and printed in 3d again, molded and cast. All the heads of the characters were eventually made into real world painted busts, if I can dig up pics I wll post them.

Scott

Thanks Scott for answer,
That was big job indeed!
Keep doing great work!

Hi Scott

I’m very impressed by your amazing job!

I saw the movie yesterday and I was fascinated by the overall effect of the 3D characters. Elsewhere I love the teeths, the similarity with these of the actors is obvious.

I also heard about non-3d sculptures of the characters made during the production.
What was the purpose of each type of ( 3d or not ) designs ?

Clément

andreja: Post some Pics, you guys did an amazing job!!!

i just watched avatar a few hours ago and i have to say that the visuals are truely groundbreaking and the modeling has really inspired me…i am only 15 so i have only just started my 3d work but i may have to buy those 2 gnomon tutorial dvds you made!

Great work on the navi’s face designs, I digged Neville Page artworks for the banshee as well!
Nice to see these on the web, very nice.

Cheers

P.

PS: Hey Andreja, I would refrain from posting avtar stuff on the web without getting publicity’s authorization first

Pascal is right.

PascalR: Neville Page designed the banshee, the artwork and model of the banshee that I posted here are mine. if the implication is that I posted Neville work(?) that’s not the case. Trust me, you can ask Neville we have had this conversation.

Andreja: I know from experience that they can get very sensitive with this kind of stuff
Patton: I am not saying you are posting Neville’s work, and I know a lot of the designs were altered during the process ( I actually did change some stuff on the thanator), I am just saying that Neville’s work was also top level on these creatures.
Again , great work on your designs Patton.

Cheers!

Hey PAtton, I finally got to see the film today and must say it was truly breath taking and inspiring. The Characters have got to be the most beleivable cg characters I have ever seen. Amazing work and congratulations to the entire team on such magnificant work.

PascalR:it’s cool, like I said we have had this talk before :sunglasses: and we both agree that no one person has authorship of any one thing on Pandora .
So, great work on the Thanator and everything else, you guys have a lot to be proud of.
Please do what you can to get your work shown here , I for one would love to see all the Avatar work displayed. People would not believe how much artwork that was done for the movie.
Patton

how long was it? two or three years… my god man, how many hours weeks months painting blue and [COLOR=SlateGray]metal from Joe P. and your (S.P.) designs? :sunglasses:

I saw the avatar.
It was amazing!!
I am very surprised at the backgrounds and skin texture.
DO you have another shot…?

Congratulations!!! Wonderful movie…

Oh man… I saw the movie, and found on here that you posted concept art… my jaw dropped. I’ve looked at all your imdb stuff… and I have to say when I grow up I wanna be just like you :stuck_out_tongue: In all seriousness I was so inspired the 2nd time seeing this movie by your concepts that I sculpted myself as an Avatar ^_^’ Took me 5 hours to sculpt up, and obviously isn’t as good as yours but I just had to do… Thank you so much! I’ll keep at Zbrush so one day I can do what you’re doing!
