Hey Patton, thanks for posting some of your work here.
I’ve just seen the movie in 3D and IMAX 3D. You guys did an awesome job both artistically as technically… definitely pushed some boundaries.
The face and skin details looks truly amazing as well as the facial performance that captured the tinniest detail. Especially the close-up shots, were jaw dropping.
Not only the characters, creatures and vehicles but the whole world was real.
Congratulations on this outstanding piece of work.

Absolutely mind boggling! TRULY INSPIRING WORK!
The naavi are so beautifully made and so realistic at the same time. I’d say the new breakthrough here would be the delivery of subtle emotion in the characters amongst the obviously gorgeous eye candy!

Who woul’dnt want to become an avatar :D.

This is great. My brain is still in Pandora. I loved this movie and everything that went into it and these early sculpts show just how much talent it took to pull it off. You must be so proud to have been a part of such a beautiful, epic, ground-breaking film. Congrats on getting to work on Avatar and thanks so much for sharing this with all of us.

Last week, I was thinking, perhaps it’s time to give up 3D, look for a real job, and do something “meaningful” with my life. Today, I saw your thread, and watched avatar at the cinema. Thank you for inspiring me to keep at it, keep learning and keep dreaming.

WOW!!!1 I’m completely new to zbrush and i have been eagerly awaiting the release of Avatar for months…I’m going to watch the film in the new year but I just wanted to comment on how impressed I am with your work…love it could you link to your dvd please, hope to see more soon…
