I told you you wouldn’t like it!
I suspect that its as close as you are going to get for the time being…

Today’s version of Zbrush doesn’t seem to have true refraction or caustics.
Dear Blender has for years.
Maybe a future update of Zbrush will give users the option to set a objects index of refraction and thus have beautiful rainbows etc.
Then, Zbrush can be a bigger a pot of gold !

Just wanted to say that I have been watching this thread for a long time, and keep coming back to it often for inspiration and motivation to experiment with new staff. Real nice zsketchbook :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Thank you Mitholon, nice to hear this and that my work could inspire someone…really im honoured. :+1:

Background study and rendering test made in Zbrush.

Hi Daniele, Very nice … looks like micro mesh.

Cheers, David

Amazing!!!

I wonder what comes in front.
Excellent render.

That render in post #1652 is so delicate.
Make me first think of fabric.
Then in second thought it could a high order microbial growth.
Maybe you have created a alien life form.
The amount of detail is awesome !

This is lovely!

as always a great job, (“for when the tutorial?”)
I have also worked in photomicrographs, is very interesting, and there are no limits, a hug

Hi David, i’ve seen your cool works with micromesh but i’ve not used it,
it is more like my old series Garden of Delights so no micromesh involved in it.

Hey michalis nice to hear you again, i come back here often
simply i’ve not so much time unfortunately but i’d like to post
something frequently as in the past. We had great times last 2 years or so. LoL

Very Cool ! Yeah, a tutorial would be great as I’d love to learn something new… Deke

Had to think on how to write a tutorial for this
in the meanwhile my study continues,
Haeckel inspired but different forms.

Hey longtime no see, i can tell your still taking care of business. Marvelous sculpt :+1:

Thank man, glad u like it.

These are beautiful! Love all the unique forms.

Thank u Maury! More will come!

nice one man. they would look fantastic if they were lit internally and had some translucenty … but thats just me.!!

I’d love to make them in this way Tyrell but if u have seen my previous post i’ m asking how to make total transparency on a single subtool
…only if two ore more are present u see transparency between them but not on a single one…it’s a pity.

Still life inspired by Haeckel. Modeling Zbrush, PS for the final touches.
