This rocks the house…in a make-me-wince-while-I-am-enjoying-it sort of way.
@Selwy, Chalkman,PFC666 thx u guys
@blueferret, no fibermesh involved here, just lots of deformations masking and extruding
or using move topology brush on vertex with radial simmetry
i take a model with regular faces and fold them, I make various subtools cloned , rotated, and using symmetry here and there
to give other forms fused together. Rendering is basic there is a post production filters in photoshop to give them
the feel of pencil on paper like Escher (more or less)
@tonare, thx much appreciated
@chalkman, yeah this was the idea
@Mhued im glad you enjoyed it
@Francesco, im honoured…i feel like a child sometimes while creating this things and exploring them in big size
like another universe to find the right angle to render…zbrush is like a voyage…
About the video of Michael Hansmeyer (#654) its very inspirational i think
and give credit to what we are experimenting here from each of you

Fantastic things happening in your thread…Luvin them…:)
Glenn
WOW Really nice BPR! render and cool matcap materials it looks like plastic
Best

thx Glenn, i feel enthusiastic with these last things also because i think there is still a lot to experiment and share with this new forms… at least for me.
thx skaal , i like your fractals too. Mine are not fractal in this case , not in the common sense i mean these are released manually inside Zbrush
Glad u like it , much appreciated.
About render yes ive tryed a colourful version , but at the end i prefer the black&white with a bit of Escher touch (like the last one)
They do look excellent in Black and white … keep up the great work! TopMod is a great app for some of the organic models you are doing!
Cheers, David
the forms and shapes are just divine!

…this ‘garden’ is really unbelievably great stuff, IMO. It has a sense of growth and chaos, order and disorder (‘chaordic’). Above all, the real complexity of natural things, but still with an artists voice, which I think is new territory for 3D, and something we can finally do now with the tools that are current. You have, apparently, entirely new sub-genres within you that are quite distinct from your previous work…what was the sudden impetus for this new series/direction? …if you can articulate it I would love to know!
Mhued Thanks, I’m glad you like my latest work. I tried to create a recognizable style than my previous work that paid tribute to Giger or Beksinski (still studying him btw)
The idea came from looking at my pair of stick insects (Heteropterix), beautiful insects that feed brambles. They are full of thorns around the body exactly like what they eat. Instead of using traditional styles to build 3D models I tried to undress conventional techniques and accept what is considered almost an error in building the models. For example, pull the vertex too much stretching them, invert the normals to the surfaces etc. I did some tests and then they came up with these when I thought I had reached a certain control . Escher is also one of my influences so with the last ones i’ve tryed to create a sort of pencil on paper touch
First experiments in this way are posts #491,492,494,499 but here i put soft forms, smoothed and gentle and with different approach.
Radiolarians too have beautiful shapes and so the fractal geometry .Nature provides the best inspiration for any artist … so like dreams, here there is creativity (for me).
Hey I like the term Chaordic. Thx for watching.
Time for TopRow?
Amazing work.
I don’t even ask how you did it. (ok, I read about it)
I just love them!
wow! your latest series is beautiful! i have never seen such work, it is unique and yet it gives me a feeling of looking at something familiar. amazing, very inspiring!! i downloaded your last ones to use as desktop backround.
oh i don’t know,
but im glad u like them
Thx u very much for the “unique” and honoured you have it for your desktop
hope this could inspire new things around
IX and XI are very nice, especially the model used fo XI.
Keep experimenting,J.
