Added some hardware to the boots and working on the other stuff tom.

Loving the updates.:+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

Glad to see that body together with his lower half. Very way kewl.

Do you have any concept sketches of where you are going with him or are you designing on the fly as you go along? Either way I like it.

Thanks alot Ron, I really like where you are going as well with those new cloth textures on your last post. very realistic buddy.
My guy is far from finished and except for the skin I really have not had time to work on new textures, so most of his other parts will have a different look than what you see here.
To answer your question Ron, I did make some rough sketches of the original concept, although they have changed a bit. Take care buddy.

Odihinn, I have sat back and watched you add to this project for awhile now. You have put an incredible amount of time and effort into it. Usually on threads like this I dont reply because so many others already have. Great work and a 5 star :+1:

Tartan,
Really means something buddy, I actually don’t get a lot a feedback on my thread so I’m always happy when someone takes the time to respond. I appreciate you mentioning the work aspect because people outside these forums who only just play video games don’t realize what goes into making them, which is just good old fashioned hard work. Thanks again for the words of support bro.

i’ve been lurking this thread the whole time! sorry for not speaking up when you’ve been getting so down. cut it out! take some time away and forget about what’s buggin ya. then get back to biz! this thread’s great and the work you’ve done is terrific! getting depressed sucks but dude… the sun’s gonna rise tomorrow! getting a payin gig in this field is pretty tough my man. expect a heck of lot more “nos” than “yeses.” like 2 mil to 1. you not only gotta be good enough, you got to fit the style as well… and then you’re competeing with someone who’s as good but also knows someone. all you can do is keep your nose to the grindstone. give up now and you’ll never get there. in the meantime take time to breath and smile and laugh and most importantly… keep z-in’!

Pete,
Thanks for taking the time to post on my thread.
Things are not that bad, just burned out a bit.
Appreciate all the sentiments from you, very cool of you to voice some support./Odhinn

Left hand of my new character…
Most of these textures will change, just a quick render test.
Going to add details to the hand tom in projection master,

5_1020.jpg

thats lookin spot on at the minute will look forward to seeing it after you have detailed it. love the concept

Hey, man, it’s been a while since I posted anything on these forums. I really like what you’ve done with this guy, he’s looking really slick. The details are great too, but to be totally honest, I’d like to see you work a bit more on the anatomical form. You’ve got the muscles in the right places, but the form of each needs a bit of work. Of course that’s just my opinion. If that’s your style, then keep chugging at it, cause it is easily recognisable.

On a side note, if you’re dealing with boredom-burnout, then take some time away from the computer altogether. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve faced that, and how many times I’ve been turned down for jobs too. Yeah it’s hard on the ego, but as long as you keep going, and keep trying to make each model you work on better than the one before it, you’ll get noticed. For now, take some time off, chill out for a while, and when you get back, you’ll be better for it. After that, post on places like doom3world.org, in the forums that let you say you’re looking for work on a mod. It’s a great way for people to notice your work, and meet people who are SOMETIMES in the industry. They can see your work ethic, and talk to others about you, and spread the word on how great you are.

Well, those are just suggestions, you can take them or leave them, it’s up to you. But I really think you might benefit from some time away from your computer.

Anyway, great work as always, and I’ll keep lurking around here to see what else you come up with.

Heyas Odhinn…yeah I also dont know why you dont get more replies on your thread…alot of work going on here …but go figure…though I don’t work as hard as you do on your modeling, I come into the same frame of mind alot of times…and intentional or not it does feel like a slap in the face alot of times…but I quit trying to figure the public out…lol was driving me crazier than I already am…I subscribed to this thread and enjoy coming home and seeing email notification that you have posted more…I have enjoyed viewing this thread from the get go and still do.

Love the direction the arm and hand are going…the thumb looks a bit off to me…the tip of it seems small to me…but then again I probably have cadaracs(sp?) forming because of zbrush…:o

And if ya ever need an ear to let off some steam, you know where to write me:+1:

Now get back to work and make me eye candy…:sunglasses:
