That’s really looking solid, odhinn, but honestly, I expect that from you. The shoulder muscle is a bit small for my taste, but I like big shoulders, so you can ignore that statement. Great job on his face, lot’s of personality.
It’ll be cool to see the other half of him when you get him done.

This one is going to have alot of machinery on him in the Quake vein. I don’t know if you checked it out yet but the new “MODO” platform has an unwrap function in v103 that looks promising.
You can unwrap your UVmap in seconds. I hate tweaking uv maps so I’m experimenting with their trial ware tonight. The company is LUXOLOGY, basically the guys who left LIGHTWAVE and formed a new company. Take Care.

Iv just got a couple of crits on the topology structure all seemed ok until i saw the chest area, as it doesnt have a straight forward symetrical structure although has more or less the same detail, the issue iv got with it is that it seems to flow on a lopsided pinched angle ie. around the abs and belly button. granted you dont want a symetrical character yet think you should take a look at it.

You are right… the lines of the mesh get a little skewed further down but it will be a static render when done not animation. thnks for the crits
That’s some crazy looking mechanics you got there, man. For whatever reason, it gives me the feeling of sickness, and death, just the way the guy looks. Like everything off center, and dislocated. It looks great, very disturbing stuff.
You gonna add more mechanics? Keep him going, great work.

mech bits look cool reminds me of a cross between the borg and a dalek
looks like the mech arm needs to be abit bigger tho so its more in proportion, looks like it should have a rocket launcher or sumin big.

Looks wild! However, I feel that the mech base is a tad to large for the torso and ditracts from the torso. I’d reduce it about half so the proportions of the torso come more into the foreground.

Thanx for the crits guys, I took all your advice.
Changed the seat to match the upper body proportions and added
feeder tubes to the abdominal wall from the base.
I’m happy with the larger base because he is suppose to intimidate and kill humans, so I don’t want him to be the same
dimensions. I included a screen capture also of the rig in Maya.

Here is the guy posed…
still have to complete figure and fix some small deformations in mesh caused by pose.
for those interested I didn’t paint with skin weights when working on pose, instead I used influence objects and parented them to specific joints.
I find this much faster and achieve better results.
I’m kinda glad you kept that left arm the way it is, it evokes a more diseased, tormented, deformed look and feel to the character. Everything is off center, and scary.
Everything looks great on this guy, the only thing I can say as far as crits go, is, he needs more aroun the base. While looking off balance is great for this guy, he should have a wider base/bigger feet. Just something to convey that this guy can and will chase you down.
Still awesome character, and killer work, what more can I ask for?
