Announcing ZBrush 4R3

yeah you re right, but still slower, less precisely and inconvenient

Great news, cant keep up, thanks Pixologic.

One question, when mentioned “Fiber Guides” is this somthing thats added to R3, as currently that cant be done can it, only strips of polygons are exported at the moment which cant be used for guides in Modo?

Pixologic going to get one more baby!! delivery date is announced.

Awesome new features. Is it somehow, some way, some day possible or plausible to get a subtool grouping system for visibility so that we can manage and maintain some of these awesome features a bit better?

Mark

What the?
Blown away_Truly amazing stuff.

Please do not post troubleshooting questions in this thread.

Questions regarding features and usage of ZBrush 4R2b or lower should be posted in the Questions & Troubleshooting forums.

Questions regarding your account, installation, activation, etc. should be handled through a Support ticket at https://support.pixologic.com.

Thanks!

cool,its perfect i want it!!!now!!!

LOL I havent even had a chance to install version R2D2 yet… Now we are already moving on to 3CPO.

I agree with Beowulf. Working as we have (many many subtools) with out a photoshop-like folders system has become similar to driving a mack truck with out real brakes. Its the feature we have been wanting for years now. Folder based display. Folder based Decimate-All. Folder based Export all. Import into folders. Name and sort. Folder based deletion.

Exploding with anticipation here for the fiber to geometry function. When doing toy design sculpting for rapid-prototyping, fiber based hair or render based hair can’t be used. But this… it sounds like a fun solution that might open up all kinds of avenues for hair treatment, scales, feathers, and armor.

ALREADY!? WOW, HOW INCREDIBLE!

When it comes to ZBrush you can’t even blink for a second! You guys must be pretty exhausted from working so damn hard!

Thank you so much Pixologic!

Another amazing announcement. Maybe we’ll see a video preview this weekend? I especially like the new auto update feature. I’m hopeful this means we’ll see bug fixes become a more commonplace thing. NoiseMaker is looking really good and the BPR to Geo is an interesting idea too that I can’t wait to see in action. If these point releases are this amazing, what’s the major update to v5 going to be like when it arrives I wonder? Mind = boggled!

The way 3D Coat handles this is pretty smart. In fact you don’t even need the keyboard for the basics and can adjust a lot with just one hand. Right clicking on the model and dragging left/right will decrease/increase brush size, while dragging up/down will increase/decrease strength. The brush cursor is also a visual indicator for size, strength, falloff, type (sculpting, smoothing, etc), opacity, and so on. It’s easily the most efficient and speedy implementation I’ve seen to date and like the rest of 3D Coat’s navigation is all user programmable too. Right clicking in ZBrush is currently being wasted on unneeded redundancy. I also like 3D Coat’s default zoom/pan/rotate navigation too which also only requires one hand and is very natural. Still love my 3DX the most though.

Vector displacement caught me by surprise. I honestly didn’t think we would see it any time soon, so you can imagine how big my grin is right now. I’m really looking forward to using QRemesher as well and I hope February is still the intended month of release. 64 bit is slated for ZBrush 5 so we’ll still have to wait a while for that one, but we do know it’s coming. It’s really nice to see that Pixologic has noticed how often these particular features are being requested. They truly are one of the best in the business and I’m very hopefully Ptex support isn’t too far off as well. Some UV mapping issues have been driving me crazy for the better part of a week now and Ptex would be the perfect solution. If only industry wide support were a tad better than it currently is. Patience I keep telling myself. It’s well on it’s way to becoming an industry standard, just need to wait a wee bit longer.

Your hard work is greatly appreciated. Love you :o

nice…

Been holding off upgrading from 4R2 until I finish a few things, but, uhh, yeah, definitely looking forward to 4R3…
And I suppose calling it R2b2 would’ve been way too cool anyway.

oh yeah I forgot,
Thank you Pixologic…

Sooooo, just like many other Zbrushers here - I have yet to even play with Z4R2B and now this…Extreme lady wood and I am just utterly excited. Now, for fututre thoughts…can we get some animation and rigging in this great software and Zbrush will soon become the ultimate pipeline…maybe before 2012 ends #I’mjustsayin

Zbrush is my knight in shining software!

give us manuals, I barely getting beneath the surface only been using Zbrush for 6 months at least something so we can see it in writing what does what.

PRETTY PLEASE

P.S.

Can’t wait for the updates

Yes! I m looking forward some little improvement in the rigging system. Something that lets you paint weight with masks. or even a better automatic weighting… something like this :

Harikon,

If you look in the root ZBrush folder, there should be a Documentation folder. In there you’ll find ample amounts of specific information to get you going. Plus there is further educational tools at the main Pixologic website under the Education tab. They actually make it extremely easy to acquire all you need to start using the program right away! Also, there is a lot of support and tutorials in the ZBrushCentral community as well! Hope that helps.

I also liked this, the same could be done to subtools.
I had made a “plugin” rerquest for this. http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?165990-SubTool-organized-in-folders-category-or-tags

thanks for the update!!

anxiously waiting for some improvement in retopo tools
