You got the basic shape but still need to pay more effort on detailing.

I’d say to start with the move brush at the lowest sdiv level and work your way up only using variations of the move brush (zintesity/focal shift/draw size/zsub(ALT-move), and some claytubes with a soft alpha…never going past level 3 or 4 as you are finding shapes… Move the shapes according to the silhouette of the form you are trying to make. Subdividing to a higher level is only for the surface details of shapes that are in their true form.

That base mesh looks a lot like the one that ships in Scott Spencers digital sculpting anatomy book/disc. If that’s where you’re learning form then keep at it, it’s a very good book!

I use ACDSee 7 and it will stay on top of other running applications.

Irfanview will also stay on top and is FREE.

An easier way to keep a reference image in view whilst sculpting would be to use spotlight. Just turn off spotlight projections and you can keep an image or images on your canvas with out them effecting the sculpting tools.
