anatomy studies

hello everyone. been a while since ive posted anything but I decided ima hit yall with a model ive been workin on. ive only worked on it for a couple of hours but I feel im making good progress. any constructive criticism is appreciated.

Thats some brilliant sculpting. I wish I was that lean.

If there’s any crit I would offer (and I’m reaching a bit here) it would be that the top half is more lean and striated than the bottom. The outer sweep of the quadracep usually sits a bit higher than the inner (teardrop) part. Also the hamstrings would be more prominent. What do you think?

yeah i agree about the quads and hamstrings, ill fix it and post an update soon.

I’m not too keen on the way you make the muscles feel like they are rolls of flesh… especially on the chest, where the muscles themselves are rather like flattened ribbons than round, puffy rolls of dough… I have to say I like the monster guy quite a lot more than the human… Keep it coming  :+1:

These look really good. You have good modeling chops. To take it to the next level I would try to reference some bodybuilding anatomy pictures. There is no shortage of them online. There are a few anatomical issues your work has that could be easily cleared up with a little photo reference.

Great work. Keep it up.

here are some updates to the monster ive been working on. i think it looks pretty cool so far:D   ZBrush-Document1.jpg

NickZ.

thanks, theres still a few more things i wanna do before i think its done. buts thanks for your comments!

i LOVE the upper 4/5s of this creature…simply awesome…

the feet drive me insane though! it looks like you just too the move brush and pulled his feet down…theyre too thin for such a heavy and meaty body.

lol. yeah theres still afew things i need to work on. ill see if i can fix it when i have some free time. but thanks for your comment!

Really cool work, as far as I can see.

Cmon.

this is an update to the first post i made. I used many different brushes this time. Im going to add some clothes and pose him but for now im just gonna adda little bit more detail.anatomy1.jpg

This is a major improvement over the already great first one. Good form and muscle structure. I like

yeah i got some pretty strong critique so I decided to really try to make this model as accurate as possible. I think it would be impossible to make this kinda detail by just using the standard brush. I used the clay brush extensively and i like how it smoothes things out. anyway I worked on the monster more today and i am very pleased with the way its turning out. thanks for lookin at my work! ZBrush-Document25.jpg

oh wow dude, this is looking gr8 now, your anatomy took like superman leaps since the first post.

nice stuffs…

I think you should get rid of this noise effect if you can, it ruins a bit the work you did on it…

ok guys heres a close up. i finally foundut how to mess with the lighting. ( i kept getting dark splotches on the model.) i also started using the hd geometry which is awsome. anyway i think im gonna work on some new projects. im having so much fun with this program its like unlimited clay at your disposal.:+1: ZBrush-Document26.jpg
